Well, I have lived here a few of years. All in all, you get what you pay for. We can't afford much so this is a good place for us. The apartment is pretty large and we couldn't get anything else this large for this price. I don't know what starting rent is now...
My biggest complaint would be cheap materials...really cheap, cabnet doors fall off, the carpet was a disgrace when we moved in, bad linoleum, bad paint, thin walls. I can hear when my neighbors are, lets say "intimate" And no, they are not just being wild, loud animals...
Staff is very nice and helpful. I see a few bad comments about them. Well they are real nice to us. There have been some bad tennants that had to go, so maybe the complaint about the staff is from them. I lived in a lot of apartments and never been treated with the respect and understanding as here. Dan is the nicest landlord i have ever known. I just can't tell you how wonderful he has been to me and really helped me out. You would never expect it from a landlord.
As long as you are a decent person, good tennant, I cannot imagine having a bad experience with them...
Generally there are not many kids and the ones we have are pretty well behaved. there have been problem children in the past, but that's what you get with apartment living sometimes...
All in all...if you can afford better quality go for it. But if you really need the space this is a good place, close to the beach and bus stop, and tennis court, and a nice staff that cares about you. there is no way getting around the poor quality materials though...
We will be staying for the foreseeable future, one thing about the bad materials is if you call and tell them it broke they will get right out and fix it. Curtis is great, it is amazing how fast he comes to fix it! Plus they give you free light bulbs for replacing.
Good luck!
