Good - with some room for improvement

It has to be said, Villaggio is a very nice place to live. The apartments are the best that I have seen anywhere on the east-side, and the location is exceptional. The prices here are high (especially three bedrooms or apartments with a water view) but not unreasonable as you get to live in a nice area and to have an apartment with good details (crown moulding, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, etc).
I don't have any bad things to say about the apartments, aside from the fact that the walls could be thicker (you can hear noise from your neighbors). Also, noise from balconies and patios tends to travel through the courtyards and can sometimes be annoying during the summer months.
The management staff seem friendly when you go to the leasing office, and the maintenance team are also very good and seem friendly. One criticism is that I think Villaggio could invest more time into the maintenance of the property and facilities, as opposed to trying to get new residents. I'm not saying that the staff don't try to keep existing residents happy, but it is clear that more time and effort is spent on getting new residents.
One small but perfect example of this is the leasing office. When you enter the leasing office you will see fresh flowers everywhere, but if you walk down any of the resident courtyards you will see empty planters! Some residents have even begun planting their own flowers in the planters because it seems that no-one else is going to do it.
I think more time and care needs to be taken to ensure that the resident buildings are kept up to scratch. When I moved in there used to be a Villaggio cart by the parking level elevator which residents could use to help them move shopping into the building (fantastic if you are of a mature age like myself, and can't carry a lot of shopping at one time). The cart disappeared from our building without any warning to residents, and I have not seen it for at least 4 months now. Also, another area that could use more attention is the lighting around the buildings. There are some areas between the 5000/6000/7000 buildings which are very poorly lit, and it makes me feel a little bit uncomfortable to walk to the leasing office if it's dark (not because it's a dangerous area, but because I am worried that cars won't see me when they come through the gates heading towards the parking lot).
Management has tried to arrange events for existing residents (parties, boat trips, etc) and that effort does not go unnoticed - but most of these activities were not very popular with residents and the good-will effort could probably be better used on improving the areas I mentioned above (things which directly improve the quality of living at Villaggio, as opposed to social events).
For safety I think it's worth mentioning that when you drive into Villaggio you will a nice fountain in the center of a roundabout. This looks very pretty but a lot of the residents ignore the road markings and drive around the fountain the wrong way, which is very dangerous (you should always drive around a roundabout to the right side, never to the left!). I know that this has caused some minor car accidents over the last year, and i've almost had my car hit multiple times by residents who were lazy and cut the wrong way around the roundabout.
In conclusion Villaggio is a very nice place to live, but there are still some areas for improvement. If you are looking for a luxurious apartment in a great location - then this is the best apartment community. I've looked at many of the communities on the east side, and nowhere comes close to the quality of the Villaggio apartments. I hope that the leasing office management will read this and take action to fix the things that need improvement.
