Pointless Community Events when essential maintenance is needed

For some reason Villaggio is now using rent money to host: Masquerade balls, wine tasting, and meditation events. Yet basic maintenance issues are not being taken care of. The Sauna, hasn't worked in years, its equipment just lies there broken and rotting. The hot tub is just a bacteria breeding ground with a layer of some sort of oil on top and soap or shampoo which begins to foam if you turn the jets on. The planters in the ground floor are growing all sort of weed. The supposed volleyball court is full of branches and bits which would hurt anyone who tries to use it. And lastly, there are huge rats by the dumpsters.

I am not sure if this place is being managed/ran by anyone these days, if it is, then that person needs to stick his or her head out of the office and fix the things that residents really care about and pay for. Rather than host pointless events.

Hi! Thank you for your concern regarding Villaggio. The office staff at Villaggio is very open to suggestions on how we might serve you better and strive to reach the highest levels of customer service every day. In response to your concerns: Resident events bring our community together! Many people have enjoyed meeting their neighbors as they are new in town. Residents have made connections and enjoy bridge nights together, sharing expected baby stories etc. The majority of the events (wine tasting and meditation) are hosted by outside individuals who share their products and knowledge free of charge! We encourage you to come join us and see how great your neighbors and staff are. During the third quarter of 08 the hot tub was resurfaced. It is maintained daily and many of our residents enjoy this on a regular basis. The sauna does take a while to heat up as expected. If there is any trouble in using it your Villaggio staff is grateful to help. Villaggio is very excited to have located leaks in our plaza's which have effected the garage. Plans are underway to replant the planters which ad to the wonderful feel of the homes. The volley ball court is not raked through the winter as it goes unused. The maintenance staff concentrates on fall leaves and other winter items through the cold months. Each year new sand is brought in and the area is raked daily for your enjoyment during the seasons which it is used. We are almost there! Rat's are not fun! Resting on the shores of Lake Washington along with a green belt on one side it is natural that mother natures creatures would enjoy our area. Rest assured ORKIN is diligently on the property 1-2 times per week to combat our fury little guest. Most people come to Villaggio directly so we can combat an area right away. Also placing your garbage inside the containers in designated areas will help with this issue. Our maintenance staff tends to find garbage bags resting on the ground in these areas which is an open invitation. Garbage containers are emptied daily to ensure there is always room for refuse. Please do not hesitate to contact the office at any time to voice your concern. Villaggio is at your service!

The "furry little guest" sounds awfully cute, but having ongoing mold issues is akin to having a known killer living on your grounds and not doing anything about it. Yes, Mother Nature can be a pain, but it is the law that the apartments for which you accept money have to be free of that "cute lil' bugger"! Meaning, it's the law. And did I mention it's THE LAW? This may cost your company a lot to deal with, but believe me, the lawsuit will cost you more and the tenants will win!

Ya--I lived in this place when it was the Infamous "YarrowBay Apartments" and what the first reviewer stated sounds like the same crap from those old times. The response from management is the same thing. Kinda funny to find that while the outside has a new face lift the inside is still as phoney and cold as before. Oh--and too expensive. They have to find some way to pay off the debit for the changes.

To address the points made by management: 1)Sauna - I have owned a sauna before, there is a difference b/t taking long to heat up and being broken and rusted. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that several coils have failed and that is why the sauna isn't heating as it should. 2)Planters - it has been 7 months since management posted that planters would be replanted/maintained...seems like sufficient time to have performed the task, doesn't it? 3)Volleyball court - was not racked during the winter or the summer. No new sand was brought in either. 4)The garbage/rat situation has in fact gotten better, the skinny blond guy from maintenance is emptying the garbage reguarly and making sure that the lids are on. 5) events hosted by outside individuals - during the summer, tennis lessons were hosted by some individual (they were not open to residents or at least not free). Students (who did not live in Villaggio) were taking up parking spaces around the tennis courts. Some tournament was hosted and tons of people who don't live here were walking around the premises, and taking up parking spaces beyond the gates. There were at least 3 tents and a set of bleachers installed. Residents were not informed or asked for authorization. I am not sure why I pay rent so that some people who don't even live here can have tournaments on the grounds. Good job on the trash issue, hopefully the other issues wont take yet another year to be resolved.
