Be careful with this new management.

Living at the Woodbridge Apartments has been overall okay but there are some noticeable negative changes taking place starting almost immediately from when its new management stepped in around the summer of 2008.
This apartment complex is the epitome of 'you get what you pay for' which has always been okay with me. In general however its all be fine, nothing fancy, just fine. No bug problems, no noticeable mold, appliances all function, it is relatively clean considering its an old building that allows animals, a medium sized water mark is on the ceiling. Nothing too terrible and nothing too fancy. Just a pretty decent place for people who are on a budget. The neighbors I've come in contact with are for the most part nice and friendly though I suspect some sketchiness and its questionable whether or not a few of them make an honest living, if you know what I mean.
My car was broken into and had the iPod stolen but it just made me weary to leave things in my car.
HOWEVER, since the summer we had a random pool closure during a few of the hottest days without any explanation. To be honest the pool was a large draw for why we chose to live here and it was beyond the timeframe of typical maintenance.
In mid August, in one specific building only we experienced days without any electricity. Once again with no explanation. Management would tell us that Puget Sound Energy was to blame and Puget Sound Energy said that the problem was due to a cut that the property management had made, not them. Daily I would call from work to see if there would be power when I returned home and after I was greeted and mentioned the power situation by politely asking if it was known whether or not the power was on the tone of the conversation turned to very short and quite impatient and rude. The woman showed no sympathy towards the situation, her response was "I've been in and out all day.. I've only been here for five minutes and I don't know if your power on yet". They should give us pro-rated rent since it's their fault but I doubt they will.
There have been some construction which is to be expected with new management whose goal is to revamp the place but the few annoying instances where the majority of the parking spots were not to be parked in for a day or two, even with the proper notice we were given, was annoying.
Its quite apparent that the new management is more interested in moving current people out so they can get new people in who will be paying more. There is the distinct feeling that they are hoping that through all these unapologetic inconveniences that they are far more concerned with making a profit than they are about their tenants which would be my concern if I were considering moving here. We feel as though we are being run off, though we all have contracts. If they are showing such ill regard for their current tenants, who is to say that once they have revamped and have the tenants they desire they will continue to value their profit more than the comfort of their tenants in a fair living environment. Needless to say, we will be glad to move out. It will be nice not to have our living situation randomly meddled with.

EXCELLENT depiction of what is going on at Woodbridge. Not only is the power turned off randomly and for extended days, it is the water as well. My daughter has had her water turned off 14 days this month already without any compensation. How can anyone expect to stay during the day in an apartment that you PAID the rent on if you don't have water ?? Sounds to me like the Housing Authority needs a phone call for more then 1 reason. These tenants are being toyed with big time! - I finally got my deposit back from them with this cheesy letter saying that they hope we consider Prometheus Management in the future.. Ha! I tell anyone that is home hunting to steer CLEAR of anyplace managed by them and especially from WoodBridge aka: "The Emerson" -

I wanted to add to this that one of the people in the office actually articulated to me that their goal in this process was to move out the "type of people that currently live here" and bring in a "classier" group. I told them I wanted out of my lease as I was promised from old management (as my car was one of the ones involved in the big car fire in April) and was basically told "oh well." I think that we should be given some kind of financial break since their construction is seriously impeding on all of our lives, but as you said, that is completely doubtful.
Do not live here!!!

Just as a note to my initial review, whilst the power was out they allowed us to place out frozen and refrigerated items that would have otherwise been tossed due to days of no power, we were given a key to a vacant apartment to have access to its functioning fridge. As it turned out the majority of our food was stolen out of that fridge in the locked apartment, whether it was by the cleaning people who came it to prepare it to be leased off again or someone else with a key, we do not know. However there was no compensation for that.

Yup, you guys are correct. They did not renew our lease because we complained a lot. But they give due credence to people who make noise and throw their trash down to the unit below. The girls in the office have not acted on the issue. I can't wait for them to get sued for discrimation. My neighbor is disabled and they are not renewing his lease only because he had the decency to report his neighbors who made a lot of noise. Before Emerson took over, this same neighbor of mine always reported his complaints formally and was even advised my former mgt to call 911 to report the ruckus upstairs. All was well with him until the new management team set foot. I really feel bad for him. Good thing he's getting out of here soon.
