After living at the Timbers I can tell you that every review I have read rang so very true with me.

Avoid this place like the plague.

Thank God I own nothing of value to be stolen, thanks to the ex-husband and the divorce!
I lived there six months and during that time I saw the cops there at least twice a week - one time a cop blocked my car in in the morning and I couldn't get to work on time to wait for whatever the domestic disturbance du jour was to be 'resolved'.

Then there were the ambulances which were at least weekly visitors probably to stabilize one of the multitude of tweakers' ODs.

Now mind you, I was barely home and I was seeing the emergency vehicles regularly.

I can't even imagine if I decided to spend time at home what I would have experienced!
The downstairs neighbors were noisy drinking idiots that left beer bottles on my steps.

There were gang bangers cruising thru the parking lot in their lowered vehicles blasting music.

The complex had trash *everywhere* presumably because the partiers and ghetto tenants.

The office staff were *useless* - they have since hired on one person of reasonable competence but there is one woman who is completely ineffectual and barely speaks english - though what does it matter when all the tenants are completely ineffectual and barely speak english, right' And then there's another two people that are totally corrupt.

Half the time I went by the office during normal business hours it was closed, they never return phone messages, and they rarely keep their appointments.

When I moved in I was given a 'move-in special' of $100 off the first month and I signed all of the paperwork for a 6 month lease and was ready to go, only to get a call from someone else saying they couldn't honor the special because I didn't sign on for a year lease - talk about bait and switch! Oh and the rent price I listed for this place *includes* the $60 WSG they charge that they don't mention when you move in.

The office has a 'service' where you can drop off your WSG check there and they will send it in for you so you can save postage.

The ONE time I did this (I gave the check to them 10 days before it was due), they mailed it in late and *I* was charged the late fee.

I called the office about this and they said it was 'taken care of'.

It wasn't taken care of, and I couldn't get Minol to reverse the charges because it was received late - by the idiots in the office.

I left the apartment spotless and cleaner than when I moved in and they still saw it fit to charge me almost $200 for "paint touch up" - for a one bedroom apartment! total crooks.

I have since moved into a complex that is nicer, quieter, cheaper, better run, and much much safer.

It's even worse than you said. This place is a real dump. I keep my apartment cleaner than when I moved in. They told me they'd take $30 a month off my rent because the carpet is shot. The next manager revoked the agreement and refused to put in new carpet. My carpet has been the color of volcanic ash since I moved in. Maintenance is shoddy, and often non-existent. They will not put in a ceiling fan or replace the 33 year-old appliances until after I move out. The paint on the balcony is peeling, the boards rotting away, but they won't do anything. Tenants are responsible for the removal of mold. My recently recaulked bathtub already needs recaulking. Each and every dumpster overflows several times a week. The entrance is not lit at night. They took out the Community Room, the Dry Sauna, the pool shower, and the Volleyball Court. On many websites, The Timbers Apartments lists "Carpet", and "Apartment" as amenities. The list of Community Policies is SIX pages long, and includes such drivel as "For the safety of all residents, skateboards, roller skates, bikes, and OTHER TOYS (emphasis mine) are not permitted on walkways, driveways, parking areas, stairs, or lawn areas. (In other words, no toys are allowed on the premises). Then they wonder why anyone who can afford a decent apartment will not live here.
