Steep in price, sheisty, and you don't get what you pay for by far!

We just moved from Williams Court Townhomes because our lease was up after only living there a year and they were raising the price on us. First of all when we moved in last year, they had not been taken over by Spinnaker (which in itself the company stinks). The woman who took our deposit check that we put down on it was very sweet and super nice. We paid in advance to have the place held and were supposed to move in on April 18th and pro rate out the rest of the month. We called on the 17th to see when we could come give our first rent check and get the keys to start moving in and apparently she no longer worked for the company and they had lost all our signed lease paperwork and only had our deposit check with our name, but for some reason didn't call to see what the check was for. In turn they were still showing our place to other people when we were supposed to be moving in the next day. Luckily for us they hadn't rented it out to someone else or we would've been screwed. So we went and walked the place, filled out new paperwork and the woman Joe, who was super nice and like a mother type totally was apologetic and even offered to let us paint the cupboards in the kitchen a color we liked because they were marked and needed a new paint job. Well apparently by the time we got the swatches we wanted she no longer worked on the property either, so needless to say that never happened.
After moving in and getting settled, two days after moving in I went to take a bath (I was pregnant at the time) and water came through our ceiling into the living room. They were pretty prompt about coming and checking it out, they had to cut a hole in our living room ceiling and made a huge mess with wet ceiling all over the carpets and our entertainment unit because the tarp they used was too small and already filthy. Apparently whoever replaced the silver boot that is in the drain only hand tightened it and didn't seal it so this was our problem right' He replaced it and came back and "fixed" the ceiling which I have to say was crap, it was a big square of ugliness in the middle of the ceiling. We thought it was fixed, well I decided to take a bath a couple nights later and it came through our ceiling again. Apparently the seal in the overflow part was broken, they came did the same thing with the ceiling, replaced the part and left. Did I mention we THOUGHT it was fixed' Oh wait me being pregnant I take lots of baths so I went and took another bath the next night and it came through again a third time! By this time I'm fed up because if I can't take a bath while I'm pregnant then I'm gonna be one unhappy lady. They came and checked it again and they had replaced the seal with the wrong sized seal the first time. Once this was replaced they left the ceiling open for a couple days to let it dry, in the mean time I have a 3 year old who keeps getting into the debris left on the floor and rubbermaid with water and ceiling sitting in it in the middle of my living room. They came back, patched up the ceiling and attempted to popcorn it and it looked like absolute crap. After that job they never came back to see what it looked like and any other time I needed stuff done I had to talk to them 3 or 4 times to even get them to look at it. No work orders, no nothing.
I mentioned before the turn around on people working there. We had Kerry who showed us the place and took our deposit who was sweet and nice but left. Joe who did our walkthrough and who filled out our paperwork but soon left. Then there was Tammy, I dunno where they found this woman but she was by far the worst! The woman had no professionalism at all. She would come over from another property that she was managing and stay for maybe two hours sitting in the office just taking calls or talking to onsite maintenance people. She interjected cuss words in every sentence and myself and a few other residents think she may have been on something. My favorite part of Tammy was I got a note on my door at one point that said basically "I'm sorry we accidentally shredded your leasing paperwork and we need you to come in and fill out new paperwork" How do you shred someone's paperwork' At the time I couldn't find our copy of the lease so I went in and she tried to the best of her ability, which in itself wasn't very good, to refill out our paperwork. Now we had a 12 month lease, she put down as it was a 6 month lease which would mean we had to move out like that month. She put down the wrong unit on the new paperwork D instead of A. All kinds of mistakes. In turn I went on the hunt for my paperwork and found it in my files, made a copy of it for her and told her not to shred this one. Luckily for us she was soon gone from our place too. The price when we moved in to the townhouses was $750 and had everyone banging down the doors, we were on a waiting list for a month or so just to get into that place because who can beat that big of a place for that price. By the time we moved out they had at least 5 or 6 vacant places because they had raised the price from $750 to $905 for a year lease but if you wanted month to month $950, an extra $40 if you wanted to rent one of their lousy washer and dryers for your unit. Their pet deposit is something ridiculous like $400 so having a cat that doesn't cause damage doesn't matter they charge you through the nose for it. The strange part with the rent was they tried to keep us living there by offering to raise it to only $850 just for us, when everyone else was paying more. I had a feeling once another year lease was up they'd raise it again on us so there was no way I was going to stay there. Hence why we moved.
I think the only light at the end of the leasing management mess tunnel was Nadine Lopez. When she finally showed up and took over our property it was so much better. She is sweet and kind and was trying to improve the property when we left, even looking into getting a small playground on the property for the kids because there really wasn't anywhere for kids to play except for in the middle of the parking lot in traffic. Sadly though the improvement in her being hired didn't outweigh all the other cons of this property or we may have decided to stay. The Spinnaker management company is sheisty and will continue to raise the rent until their vacancies are more then the amount of people living there. I felt like it wasn't a community because I'd meet my neighbors and then soon after they'd move out because they couldn't handle the price. We had neighbors on section 8 who were moving out because for them even it was too steep. I know this was long winded but I felt the need to warn anyone who may be considering this place and make sure that others don't go through what we went through in the past year. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq

Thanks for the info. I emailed Nadine about the price because I saw an ad on craigslist. She emailed me back and said "They are ONLY $950 a month! Isn't that a GREAT price?" um no. Not when I can get a 2 bedroom anywhere else for $750. WTH are these people thinking?!

Good luck to you! I have been looking for a two bedroom and yes I did find cheaper but the quality was bad. I moved in and I love it here. The two of you should think about the whole picture. Nadine trys and she is not the only one who runs the company. Tip Tip.
I love it here at Williams Court and I would recommend it to anyone. They work with you and are always there when you need them.
