***5/7/09 - There's a couple punk kids that have broken into at least 3 apartments in the last 3 days. also several cars have gotten the windows busted and their sound systems/gps/ whatever have been stolen. the apartments are not doing enough patrols for the crime level here at seeley. be aware, PLEASE DON'T MOVE HERE IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN***
my husband and i have been here since october, he's in the army, and this is the first place RPP sent us too. i liked it because it LOOKED nice and safe. and the office people were great and lovely until after we signed the lease. as we were signing it, a lady came screaming into the office yelling at everyone "do not move here!!!!" turns out there were FIFTEEN apartments broken into around that time, this mad woman's home was one of them. she said they weren't doing anything to help her get her stuff back and so on.. the lady that helped us laughed and said "she's the only crazy person we've got here.."
we got a one bedroom, one bath, with the dining area (that costs $100 more JUST for the dining area!) as another person mentioned in their review we also have MOLD in our bathroom above the shower, on the wall. they PAINTED OVER IT! the carpet is not that great and there was already stains on it when we moved in.. i figured a good cleaning would take them out.. nope!
it took 3 days to get maintenance over to fix the leak under our sink that i found 2 days after move in. and the guy didn't fix it right so i had to call again, this time waiting 3 more days to get it fixed.
the dishwasher, washer, and dryer suck. they're old and we're not allowed to use our own personal ones.
our front door had been kicked in several times before we moved in, so it could be moved about an inch back and forth while locked. and the door frame wood was rotting. we had to get our own locks. there's alot of space around our front door, the frame is too large. so our heat bill was insane this winter because you can feel the cold coming in.
there's plenty of violence around here. i hear people screaming every weekend, cops are called often for domistic violence. cars speed like idoits through the parking lots. none of this is seeley lakes fault, but they don't do a thing to prevent or help it. they says they have 24/7 sercuity which means a very old man riding in a golf cart through the complex. what is he going to do if i'm in the process of getting beaten to death by someone in the parking lot''
we pay $20 a month for trash.. yes. there's dumpsters all over the complex, but we pay $20 per month to have a "trash team" run up and down the stairs 5 days a week collecting up to 2 bags of trash from our front doors. they don't always come on the days they're supposed to so our complex stinks because trash is left out all the time. i called the office to ask if i could just walk my own trash to the dumpster for free. they said i'd still be charged.
the gym center thing is laughable.. we used the hot tub once and jumped out after we discovered gross stuff all over the walls like it hadn't been cleaned in forever. the tanning beds are also gross and very old.
i'm just saying.. for the prices they charge here we should have a clean gym area, and better equitment.
DO NOT MOVE HERE ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN. IT'S NOT SAFE!
with the military discount we pay 760. now we are expecting our first child and i refuse to have this baby while we're still living in this hell hole. i've heard horrible things about the buy out process here but we have to do it. i refuse to have my baby in this apartment and there's barely enough room for just my hubby and i!
office manager LAURA is a B****!!! she tried to charge us 200 for some deposit, MILITARY DOESN'T HAVE TO PAY. she was extremely rude about it and when i tried to help her realize she was wrong she got loud and said "you'll have the $200 for me tomorrow in a money order.. goodbye!" then i raised my voice and explained to her again, we are military we don't pay the deposit!! and this was 3 months after we moved in.. they called us to have us re-sign the lease because they forgot a bunch of stuff!! how unprofessional. she was nice after she realized she was retarded.
there's so many negative things.. just please don't come here, you'll be as miserable as we are and wanting to move out within a month!
one more thing.. i called and requested they put new bulbs in the lights outside our apartment, and in the hallways out of safety.. it took them 2 weeks and me called twice to get ONE light bulb changed.. they aren't the regular light bulbs i own or else i'd have changed it myself. also, the bottom floor apartments bedroom window is covered by shrubs.. i live on the second floor but i can imagine how easy it would be, with the bad lighting for someone to break into the bottom level apartments.

you need to contact their corporate office and make your complaints heard. nothing will be done if you only vent your frustrations on here. you need to get things resolved and speaking to the corporate office will hopefully get the results that you want or need. and be sure to let them know about the way that you have been treated by the manager. even if she was right, there should be no reason that she should need to be rude to you.
