I would not reccomend anyone to rent these units they will nickle and dime you when you move out saying you were the cause of this and that. they get you for the carpet even though it was so old when you moved in that is how this company works be careful and i would like to know if anyone else has this problem with them.

The can not charge you for normal wear and tear. If you did not damage the carpets, ask them for a written description of what damage you caused. If you disagree, take them to small claims court to get your deposit back. Won't cost you anything, and you may get your money back.

I rented at a different apartment run by the same company. THEY ARE JERKS when you move out. What I, and most people, I'm sure, consider wear and tear (nail holed in wall, a scratch or two on the paint, etc) they consider damage. They charged me thousands when I moved out- they replaced an entire door because some paint had rubbed off! The office was RUDE and accused me of having my brother live with me, just because he spent the night when he would come out to see me!!!! I could go on and on.

I had the same problems. we asked for a walkthrough when we moved out and were totally denied. after we moved out, they ripped up the carpet and tried to charge us for stains they found on the bottom of the carpet (the part not visible without tearing up the carpet). they also charged us for every little scratch or ding. things that should be normal wear and tear. i tried to work with the company and they have been incredibley rude and hard to work with. They charged us almost a thousand dollars and every scratch was tiny. they sent us the pictures and the repairman's pinky was larger than the mark in most cases. when we moved into the apartment, the lady told me to only note the obvious/large defects. when you move out, they pay a third party to go in and fix the place and will only reimburse the company if they can take a picture. this means that they have an interested party going in and looking for any little thing to fix so that they can charge for it. This is a total scam. i am still fighting them and i moved out months ago. stay away. i am thinking about talking to the Splash, the local paper, to see if they can help shed some light on this. Liberty lake is an incredible place. just stay away from Big Trout.
