There is never any parking...folks have company who park there cars there for days and months at a time with no enforcement from the management. If the residents back there car in they get a nice note telling them not to but we the residents never have a place to park. You ask for maintenance to repair..it not only takes days but if they don't complete the job and assure you they will return the next day to finish it they never EVER return unless you call the office and complain. It once took them 3 1/2 weeks to fix both my bathrooms and I didn't have a bathroom (as my toilet was in my bathtub that entire time)for 2 days. The staff assistant manager and "helper" are wonderful people. The manager is a total ignorant sloth. Yes the grounds are clean but police drive through the parking lot DAILY and tend to be called all the time for various reasons. The management staff at time are extremely unorganized and if you ever have a balance for any reason several residents have complained that you may not get a note until 60 days later and by then it will have accumulated $5 a day plus whateve the fee USED to be. If you are looking for a convient place to move....make sure it ISN'T ALDERWOOD HEIGHTS.

I lived at AH for 7 years and did not have the experiences you are describing. Since you say there is "never any parking", I must deduce that you didn't pay the extra cost of a covered, numbered parking space. If you had done so, you would have had all the parking you ever needed, because one space would be completely and totally yours. I would agree with you that it is annoying that they charge for it, but most places in the Seattle area charge for parking, even when you don't get your own numbered space, so one cannot claim that this is beyond the pale. The maintenance staff always responded to my complaints immediately and satisfactorily, so I am not sure why they didn't in your case. And as for the police having to "drive through daily", I don't recall having seen a police car drive through that lot more than once or twice in the entire seven years I lived there. I will also mention that my neighbor worked for the Lynnwood police department and did say that cars are broken into regularly at AH. However, when I questioned her further, she admitted that cars are broken into with equal frequency at ALL apartment complexes all over Lynnwood.... and further pointed out that Apt. complexes nation-wide are one of the main target areas for car break-ins because of how they are laid out (open access, cars physically far from owners, generally poor lighting, etc). So although there may be "car crime" issues at AH, I would say nothing worse than that these issues are about average for an apartment complex in suburban America. And since it is an apartment complex in suburban America, that's not a shocking statement. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think it only fair to present an alternative perspective to potential renters from someone who lived there for 7 years and did not have any of these experiences.

Maybe they like your company. Everyone has different opinions and different experiences. Even though yours have been good others may not. I can understand you are enjoying your stay but my stay has not been as pleasant as your stay. I think that maybe they pick and choose who they like and dislike...as I say everyone has an opinion which they are entitled to. I personally don't care if she "works" for the Lynnwood Police Dept. that doesn't mean she knows all and everytime they come and go to our complex. Also not everyone can afford to shell out the "extra" $25 which I was told is $35 for the covered parking. I have lived in other states as well as several countries and I have not enjoyed my stay with AH and have seen better for less which included assigned parking for all units, for FREE! My opinion still stands that I have NOT had pleasant experience with AH and am going to be moving as soon as my lease expires. I have also seen several others who have less then favorable experiences.

I totally agree about maintenance taking forever to fix problems. I transferred from a one bedroom to a two bedroom and the nightmare began.
I had problems with mold and after 8 months problem is finally solved..only because I sent out certified letters to let them know this is unacceptable. I've had problems with my hot water, dishwasher over and over again and they finally decided that the dishwasher was ancient and needed a new one. I also agree the asst.manager and helper are nice. But the manager is full of lies, so don't believe nothing she says. She is missing something upstairs. I receive two 3 day notice at different times of course..even though I payed my rent. She wanted me to prove I payed rent, even though they had already deposited my checks. She said it was only a mistake..in a smart and nasty tone. What if I forgot my rent and I said that..what would happen then.
I've been renting on my own for over 25 years and never had anything close to this happen. I have 3 months left on my lease and I just can't wait to get out of here. I moved from California about two years ago..which are very tenant friendly and have laws against this type of practice.
