I am disappointed to say that this property has gone down hill. Things were not that way four years ago. Four years ago, management was superb! The grounds were kept up. The people who moved in were not ghetto, they were respectful and quiet! This all changed when the property was sold and new management came in.

Currently, I live here. I am suck in a lease that I can not get out of, and frankly if I made enough money I would break my lease and move out. There are many problems at Alderwood Park Apartments which I think everyone needs to consider before moving in here. At a first glance, management seems nice and the complex as a whole seems welcoming. (They have to be or else no one would move in here right'). I would advise people who move in here to know your Tenant Rights!! If you do not know them and you move here, you will get screwed over. This complex only cares about the money coming in and not the safety and concerns of their residents!!

There are transients (homeless people) living in/ behind the dumpsters. Its scary to throw your trash away and see people there. I am concerned for my safety as well as other peoples. The dumpster areas are a pigsty. You will find old couches by the dumpsters, old car batteries, microwaves, and other furniture. No recycle bins to be found here either.

Another problem with this apartment is the cleanliness of things. Let me just put it this way...there has been a rumor that people should not use the spa or pool because management does not keep it clean. How many times has the health department been called' How many people had to go to the doctor the next day to see why they have a rash where there should NOT be a rash' That is GROSS!

Since this is a "pet friendly" complex people allow their dogs to go to the bathroom on the property. That is fine if residents actually picked up their dog poop!! Warning: DO NOT WALK ON THE GRASS, I guarantee that you will step in dog poop.

When it rains, like it normally does in Washington State, I have noticed many problems. First off, the grassy areas gets soggy ... well, beyond soggy. One step in the grass and your shoe is muddy. Secondly, when it rains, everything is flooded. Good luck keeping your stuff dry if you live on the bottom floor. I have seen water up to apartment doors!! Ever since I have been here management has done nothing to correct their drainage problem. There is also an area (in the middle of the complex) that fills up with water. Right now it looks like a lake. If I walked in there the water would probably come up to my waist. There is a storm drain there, but that is all clogged up. When management has been asked to fix these problems the response is simply "Oh, we can not do that because its not in our yearly budget."

Now to the actual apartments themselves. They are fine. All of them have fire places which you do not know if you should burn in them because you do not know the degree of soot buildup. Even management does not know when the fireplaces have been cleaned out last!! The apartments have a dishwasher, washer and dryer, which I have to admit is nice. Carpet in the main areas like the living room and the bedrooms. The heater does not seem to work effectively nor efficiently. Maybe that is because its all baseboard heating.

If you are disabled, this is not a friendly place to live. You will not have access to the facilities here. It will be hard to get around due to the unevenness of the cement walkways. If you read other reviews on this site you will soon discover why. It is true what that person said about his friend and her mother. This place is not disability friendly.
