My time at the Alderwood Park Apartments was no better or worse than any other apartment complex I've lived in. The staff was friendly and always around when I needed them. The grounds and buildings are clean and well maintained. The interior had nice paint on the walls and nice carpet on the floors. All the appliances were in working order and featured a washer/dryer in each unit. On the downside, the walls are a little thin but it was never bad enough that I had to ask anybody to turn their TV or music down or anything like that. It is an apartment after all, the only way to get 100% silence is to own your own home. (And even then it's no guarantee... at least in an apartment you can complain to the managers.) Also, the steps are very steep and can be slippery due to moss. The buildings are a little older and are beginning to show their age.

Some other reviews had metioned their cars being stolen. Well, all I can say about that is that my wife and I had a 2001 Ford Taurus, 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 and my 2002 Harley-Davidson Sportster all parked in the parking lot the whole time we lived there with no problems. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it couldn't happen or that it didn't happen to those people, but cars get stolen everywhere. It probably wouldn't help your case any to have a Honda Civic or Acura Integra with big chrome wheels and blacked-out windows though. There is no such thing as a "100% No Cars Get Stolen Guarantee" anywhere in the world.

All in all, for the price of the rent it is a very decent place to live. It is walking distance to Alderwood Mall and a mile or two from I5 so it's very convenient. It's not a luxury apartment complex and the price of rent reflects that. I would say that for the price and for the area, Alderwood Park is a good choice.

(Just remember when you're reading these reviews that usually if a person is pleased with something you'll never hear it from them... it's the unhappy ones who make the most noise.)

I am thinking of moving in for a short term lease. I totally agree with you on your last sentence. I don't know how many residents there are in the apartment complex but only about less than 10 are dissatisfied. That tells you something. Thanks for your input.
