Refundable deposit'''

First, let me say that I this is my second review of this apartment. My first review was on 04/08/03, entitled "Unimpressive."
When you get here and sign your lease you'll pay $350 deposit ($200 for amenities, $150 refundable). They will inform you that your last water bill will be paid for from your "refundable" deposit (water bill runs from $30-$40 per month).
When you check out, they will inform you that not only your final water bill is paid for from your refundable deposit, so is a professional carpet cleaning fee (which is $65). So, out of your $150 refundable deposit, you are guaranteed to pay $100 of it. The front office sells the paint that is used in the apartments so you can do the touch ups yourself ($8 per gallon). If you don't do the touch ups it's $5 per every hole in the wall where you used to hang your pictures.
Finally, it is not necessary for you to be present for the final inspection, however, be sure that you or someone on your lease is. I've been here 9 months and usually get the full story after the fact, and I don't think there is one person in the front office that was there when I first got here.
The parking situation still stinks, but that has more to do with the construction than the management. To their credit, the management has begun enforcing parking passes etc., but the results are minimal.
