We were first lured by the spacious apartments and the nice look of the place. Our 2 year stay there wasn't as great as I thought. It started off ok. They said they were going to get the parking situation in hand in a couple of months. It took nearly a year. One night at 9 pm, after taking my daughter's sitter home, I arrived to find absolutely no parking spaces in the entire complex. I was not about to park clear on the other side of the complex on the street and walk in the pitch black night with my 2 year old daughter, back to our apt. I was freaked out. I didn't know what to do. Finally I chanced parking in the handicapped spot in front of our house and left a note in the car about the situation in case security saw it. I had a horrible night and kept waking up to check my car. In the morning I called and talked to, what I found out later was an intern, about the situation. He basically said that's the situation and I could park at the park and ride down the street or on the street. This was unacceptable. He wanted a lone woman and a 2 year old to walk a block in the dark of night. Eventually I talked to a manager and they set up temporary parking for me in that situation.

When the parking situation was finally fixed, they charged us for it. How stupid is that to charge for uncovered spots' They raised the rent twice in the two years we were there. Maintenece was slow in fixing a problem. Our kitchen sink was broken for 3 days before someone finally came out to look at it. The last straw was all the charges on move out. Hell they charged us for cleaning the lint trap! The lint trap' They left such a bad taste in my mouth I'll never rent at an Avalon property again. I suggest you go up the street and rent from somewhere else. Avalon just plain sucks.
