My husband and I took immaculate care of our apartment but it did not do any good. Before moving, my husband, who is quite the handy man, puttied the few nail holes that we put in the wall to hang pictures and then used the very same paint that was used to paint the apartment by the maintanence people to cover the putty (one of the maintanence people gave him the paint to do so). There was absolutely nothing wrong with the condition of the paint when we moved out. Two months later, we get a letter saying that we actually owed them money for repainting the apartment! I called the management and they supposedly spoke to the maintanence man, who by some super human power remembered our apartment out of the 500 apartments and said that the walls had to be repainted. Of course this was a bald-faced lie! After speaking with them on several occasions, I was told that the bill would be dropped and considered void. Well, I was recently contacted by a collections agency for this matter and my credit is now affected by these liars.
The reason that we wanted to move from this apartment was because the people who lived below us smoked pot and the smoke creeped up into our apartment. Plus, on a nightly basis, they gathered all of their bandmates an practiced with the volume at levels that were shaking the floor of my apartment. I complained several times to the management and nothing was ever done to correct the matter.
