This place is ridiculous.
My neighbor's bedroom is opposite our kitchen so say I want a midnight snack, I wind up with her yelling at me. Fortunately I don't have the problem of the bathroom in the bedroom but that's just ridiculous. We have this wonderful courtyard out front that we can't take our kids out to play in because it turned into a swamp the first heavy rainfall of the year. When they "tried" to fix it by putting in drainage ditches, they cut the cable to our whole building. Speaking of cable, each unit only has one jack so if you want TV in your bedroom, too bad. Our unit has cracks all over the walls above door frames, etc. Rusty water, doors that don't fit right, or don't latch at all. The doorknob on our pantry busted and I decided that it was worth my $5 to just buy a new one rather than deal with trying to get a maintenance request filled. Our refrigerator was leaking water when we moved in and it took them like 2 weeks to fix it. It started again less than a year later and it took them 4 months to come fix it. We're still waiting for our stove to get fixed, one of the burners only has one setting, high, no matter what the knob is on. There's only one smoke detector in our 2-story apartment, and it's at the top of the stairs. The water heater isn't bolted to the wall, which is a safety violation. The outlets in the bathrooms do not have GFIs in them so if they were to get wet the place would probably burn down. Our car has been broken into once within the first year we lived here. We do hear sirens all the time despite what "others" may say about low crime rate. I remember hearing about an escaped murderer on the loose in the neighborhood about a month after we moved in. That made me feel real comfortable leaving my wife and kids home alone. A lot of our neighbors have no concern for the fact that it's late and you might not want to hear their music, or to hear them yelling. One night around midnight a girl was pounding on an apartment window a building over, and when I went out and asked her to stop, her response was F-you. The walls are paper thin, when my neighbor blows his nose in his bathroom, I can hear it anywhere in my house, and when they smoke I can smell it in my living and dining rooms. Management is another thing. We paid our rent last month and made a mistake balancing the checkbook and thus the check bounced. However their bank held the check for over two weeks and did not try to resubmit it even after we had straightened the problem with our bank. When I called to ask at the office, they said that it had not been returned. Mere days later, it was returned and they said we had 3 days to pay rent plus the bounced check fee plus late fees. My wife was able to straighten it out but it wasn't before we were called and lied to several times by a certain manager. She said when she spoke to me she had told me one thing, but I had never actually spoken to her, and the person I had spoken to had told me a different thing. And to top it off, they raised our rent when we renewed our lease but did not improve our apartment in any way to reflect the increase. Also, their lease includes a clause that they ask you to initial stating that you will be responsible for their legal fees in the event of legal action, however it is illegal for a landlord to charge a tenant for their legal fees.
Don't move here.

the office staff have nothing better to do than sit on their fat arses and check what people are saying about them on this website. Just out of curiousity "booboolee" aka rental office, is this what you get paid for, to sit around and check apartmentratings.com to see what people say about the crappy job you're doing?

of course i considered moving, unfortunately i'm stuck in a lease in this dump, and sadly i'm forced to live paycheck to paycheck so i can't afford to just up and leave, even when my lease is up.
