The good, the bad, and the UGLY

Good Points: Close to shopping, freeways, easy commuter access. Apartments are VERY quiet inside with little to no 'bleed over' noise from neighbors to the sides, above or below. The cement ponds (Currently dyed a horrid shade of blue) make for a nice relaxing walking area. Clothes washer/dryer included in unit. Clubhouse is nice as is the pool and workout room with club-quality equipment. Some of the neighbors are actually friendly too. Carports are tall enough to fit a very large vehicle under, and garages are available on site if you want to hide your car away for the evening.

Bad Points: Lots of vehicle break-ins and thefts. Contrary to the signs that are up - there are NO security patrols, unless you count the Sheriffs that are on site documenting vehicle break ins. Unreserved parking is sparse, at best. Despite the signs posted "Assigned tennent parking only" people WILL park in your carport. (It's happened to us 3 times now) LOTS of Cat and Dog droppings - beware of the grass! Speaking of grass, the drainage here is so poor that most areas are extremely muddy (2" to 3" deep in places) so wear your old shoes if it's been raining. Additionally, due to a bonus program the property management company gives the personnel in the front office for renewing leases, they have worked out a new scam where you can't get a 12 month lease, even if you want it. They will go 5 to 9 months, thus they get bonuses for each renewal, AND they get to jack your rent up to the tune of almost $100/year. OUCH.

It isn't such a bad place to live, however, there are nicer places around that are also cheaper. Do your homework, rent what feels right for you.

Recommendation: Forget the car alarm (You won't hear it due to nice quiet buildings) get a CLUB for your car and HIDE your electronics. Get a DOG for the apartment to keep the neighbors out. (I'm sure there is "dander from within") and if you just have to move here, get everything in writing from the management.

Something appears to be drastically wrong at this property. Why are all the long term residents bailing out? Makes me wonder what they know that I don't know. Yes, the grounds are lovely. But, close inspection reveals this property has been badly neglected for a long, long time. Maintenance stinks. Nothing gets fixed. What they do try to fix they screw up. Don't bother complaining at the office. Car theft and vandalism are problems everywhere. One thing they do right here is they have a great relationship with the sheriff. One night, for example, management (after hours) called in to complain about a car prowler. Five minutes later there was a helicopter circling the property looking for the guy. The place was flooded with cop cars. You won't find that in many SnoCounty properties.
