Rent with caution and clarity

I lived at keeler's corner from 2004-2007. I have a family of 5. When I moved into the complex for the most part there were no problems. Occaisnal maitenence issues. The grounds were kept up and the front office cabana was kept clean. The staff was genial and friendly. The management was HSC. In 20045 a company named Holland management took over the day to day operations of this complex. From day one it was an entirely different experience. In general many apartment complexes have their problems and issues. My experience with Holland is that as a tenant, I was merely a means to money. When I first moved there it felt like a home community and things were done in a warm manner. Holland and it's staff were abrasive and would do little if a maitenence problem took place, it would take multiple times before a complaint was addressed. The grounds began to look ghetto, for a time even the garbage wasnt being taken care of. In 2007 upgrades were being done to apts only. I have no problem with a company doing business, it's the way that Holland went about this. You were given little notice, in many cases 30-60 days. You were being offered an upgraded unit, but because they were doing so many apts at one time, they couldnt guarantee you would have a place. As they pointed out it was there choice. My rent went from 1180 to 1435 in one month. They were charging fees for everything. A redecorating fee for example. They tried to have us do another credit check, fees for all kinds of odd things. I moved to an upgraded unit and it wasnt worth the money. The work that was done was sub-standard. I stayed until my lease was over in March--2008, and even when I moved out they still tried to charge even more fees. In the end they had to go by their own contract and I paid only what was due. If you decide to move into this complex just be aware, that some of Holland's business practices can be shady.

I agree with you 100%. Holland Mmgt has no business ethics & they are only concern about how much more money they can get from tenants without providing any services. Hopefully, owner will read these reviews and fire them. My apartment was burned in a fire while I was on a business trip. I was never refunded the days I had to stay at the hotel. Red Cross paid for the hotel but I was told by the apt manager that they paid for the hotel therefore I was not going to get credit for the days while I was homeless. When I asked to see the invoice they could not provided it. I had 4 months left from my lease after the fire. For the remaining time, they made me sign a new lease with new terms even though according to the initial lease everything should had stayed the same. I asked for the fire report several times but never provided. I have a lawyer and reviewing the leases & the fire report. I promise that I will stop Holland Mgmt unlawful practices. Please join me for class action.

I dealt with a few people from Holland at different apt. Holland just took over Covington Farms in Everett and I did NOT like the women I talked with. She was cold and I was disappointed when 2 people that lived there went up to her asking if matience had a ladder to get a cat out of a tree. She didnt even look up at them and gave them a quick (They are inside) I was more concerned than she was. I asked her many questions, and she did smaile but she also seemed a little snippy.
I visited Cemterpointe Greens, another Holland property in everett and the women there was very friendly. She took a lot of time with us and she laughed and was just good.
