you get what you pay for

My roommate and I are both working college students, thinking we were getting a deal. We have lived there almost a year now, and seen 3 different upstairs tenants. The first one was a group of loud men who would sit in the window and talk about us in a different language when we would come home who listened to Madonna so loud that the cops were called- who were not allowed to renew thier lease due to the disturbances. The second was a group of underage drunk crackheads- who were kicked out for partying, and now there is an episode of Jerry Springer happening upstairs every night with my roomie and I as the audience- while downstairs. What can they really do about it' Nothing yet I guess.

There is a lot of moisture in the apartments, the windows drip so much that our sliding glass door actually develops a puddle at the bottom from the moisture inside of the apartment. They reccommended we use our fans to help air out the apartment.

Whenever I have requested something to be fixed, I hae the maintenence manager in my apartment fixing it within the hour.
When they have had to enter the apartment to fix water issues (twice) we recieved notice by them calling our cell phones.

When there was a car parked in our spot we recieved a call to make sure it wasn't ours before it was towed.

They keep the grounds clean, and they recently fixed the roofs and are doing things to improve the looks. The pool stays dirty all the time. I think i have seen it clean once since last summer.

The management is really nice, and I don't believe that they will screw us when we move out because the list of things wrong with the apartment prior to move-in are in our file and I see it evertime we pay the rent. They do what they can but they have an obligation to thier mgt company to keep the apartments full. They can't turn down people just because they look dirty.

I usually get home after midnight and have only had to park across the street twice. both times were the second set of neighbors' party guests taking up all the parking. Otherwise, there seems to usually be parking available in front. The backside of the apartments look kida scary, wouldn't reccommend those at all. But if you are in one of the buildings by the street, it's quite alright. If you are looking for a cheap place to live that is habitable if you open windows and use your fans, and don't mind having a few ------ neighbors, it's ok.
And the water is still orange.
