I have lived in Tamaron Ranch for only two months now, but have learned much of why people don't recommend these apartments. I would also like to point out though that no matter where you go around this area you are not going to find a good review for apartments. Therefore, it's a situation where you have to just kinda pick your poison.
These apartments do have roaches, water damage in the walls, noisy tenants, and frequent crime. Maybe not all of them, but that is a risk you'll be taking when moving in to Tamaron Ranch. I personally have run into all these things, but fortunately have not had anything happen to myself or my property. Although just today some one broke our neighbors window at 1am, and I have heard of recent rapes, murders, and burgluries near by.
As far as the management goes, don't believe a word they say unless they have it in paper work that you can take them to court with. These people will promise you much more than they're actually planning to do. I highly recommend reading up on your rights as a renter and the laws which they have to abide by because they will try to get away with anything they can.
And lastly, if you really want to get a feel for what it would be like to live here, just ask around. Knock on a potential neighbor's door and introduce yourself as a potential neighbor and ask how they like it and if they recommend it. Ask what kind of problems they've had. I did this too late, and I wish I had done it before i moved in. I most likely would not have moved in after talking with my neighbor.
