Years at this apartment: 2009-01-01 - 2009-01-01

We moved into this complex at the beginning of this year (2009) We still love the layout of our 3 bedroom unit. The cleaning crew did an amazing job to ready the apartment for new tennants. It was the first time I didn't feel I needed to clean to move in.
We were informed during the application process that there was unbelievably limited guest parking (there are maybe 5 guest spots) and only 1 assigned space per unit. We were also given a discount on our garage rental to help with our 2nd car.
Winterhill management has been friendly and helpful throughout the majority of our lease. We pay our rent on time, have no loud parties or fights, our children are a little noisy, but otherwise well behaved.
The sole reason I would not recommend this complex is due to maintenance. Our front door must have been kicked in and graffitied prior to us moving in and maintenance has refused to replace the door. He sees no issue. We have explained that as we can see out door frame when the door is closed, out heat must be escaping. And electricity is HUGELY expensive in Snohomish County.
There is no screen on our sliding door or half of our windows and company policy apparently prohibits replacing them.
There are no disabled parking spaces convenient to our unit. We moved our senior mother in with us as she is too disabled to live on her own. Maintenance has stated that if she pushes the issue with parking, all he will do is paint our 1 designated parking space, thus making it impossible for my husband to park his car in our spot.
She had been told by him (maintenance) a few days earlier that "he" didn't mind where she parked, but if management saw her car, they would have it towed. A few days later, she pulled in and this man has verbally attacked my mother about parking in a vacant apartment's spot and how now that she had now been warned twice, he would give her NO notice before towing her vehicle. Then he stood and glared at her until she was able to move her car. He left my mother visibly shaken and panicky. In fact, she is still afraid of him.
There is also an issue of police activity. On the plus side, the arrive when called. The flip side of that is, why are they being called? And why are there always so many of them?
