I have read the previous reviews and can understand some of their concerns however I have had the best experience at Shorwood over any of the other places I have ever lived. I feel bad that no one really likes to give props when someone does a good job but people are VERY willing to scream and holler when they have a bad experience. The office staff has always been willing to help me with whatever I needed. The maintenance staff is the most responsive I have ever seen (they have like 10 of them on staff full time-even weekends). My work orders are always completed either the same day or the next and if they need to order something I at least get a phone call!! They have a completely seperate staff at the activity center so I never have to wait for the leasing staff to get my packages because they take care of all that kind of stuff there. I went to their monthly event last night where they gave us free wine (and lots of it) where else do you get that! The parking I bet can be a problem in one small section of the property but there is ALWAYS parking around my building (while driving I always see lots of parking options). The garbage does sometimes bite but I have to think that this is the reason I never see trash on the grounds! Although they only have 2 huge garbage areas they are always clean and it is kind of nice not rounding the corner and seeing dumpsters overflowing all over the parking lot! I was reading the one about the rent and to be honest the same thing happened to me. When I moved in I received 1 month free which I chose to spread along my lease term. When I signed my lease they made it very clear that my rental rate would go up to the normal rate when it expired (so I was prepared for it). I enjoy the convience of being really close to Seattle and Bellevue (I can go anywhere in like 10 minutes). Over all I really love my home here.

Not only Do I live in this community, but I am part of the office staff as well.So as a resident and staff member I can clearly say Shorewood is a pleasant experience. It is an Apartment home so you will experience typical apartment living,but with the unique twists in it's own world.Reidents seem to be very curtious and it's almost a tight nit family.I enjoy the majestic mountain and lake views,beautiful maintained grounds,and it's a great place to connect and get to know your neighbors.
