The new buildings have great apartments

I suppose I can understand why people would have gripes with the older buildings. We took a look at those and just the size of the closets in there was a deal-breaker.
We took a 2 BR, 2 BA apartment in one of the newer buildings and couldn't be happier. It's a generic apartment, there's really nothing special about it, but it has been fine. Pristinely clean when we moved in, plush carpet, even a bit of hardwood in the kitchen. All the appliances work. We get covered underground parking and there's always plenty of it. Only time I hear the neighbors is when they play the piano.
It's cheaper than you'll find at The Mercer or Island Square.
Drawbacks:
You will have to drive to the store or to get any food-- I wish I would have thought about that more before moving in.
There are lots of kids living in this complex and of course with kids there are annoyances, but there are fewer families in the new buildings.
Our phone doesn't work and the complex and the phone company went back and forth blaming each other. The people in the office were being especially dense about the whole thing. Finally we just said forget it and so we have no phone.

The information given about the neweSr building is helpful as I will probably tour the apts soon. Also, Since I Don't have children, I would like to live closer to other adults with fewer children nearbyl
