To aggressive to collect/ you will be shocked what they do to your credit rating.
Shorewood referred a dispute over security deposit to collections, who didn't have a clue that I'd paid the lion's share of the dispute. When I forwarded the cancelled check to the collection agency(IQ Data in Everett) the mgr ---- said he was not pursuing collections and forwarding this back to Shorewood to have them close the account. Well, come to find later Shorewood never acted to close the account, it's polluting my credit rating with an "account in collections" and Shorewood never acted to close the account nor respond to IQ Data or me. Now two years after move out I have to unravel the knot tied by Shorewood when management referred this to collections instead of just calling me. They said they mailed a letter to my last address (my apt) and it was returned to them (because post office doesn't forward first class mail after one year perhaps'). And did I say I moved out because they began tearing out asbestos under my room without telling me first' The front office staff is very nice and accommodating, but the velvet is thin over the rock-headed business office--just ask the guy who shot himself because they called the cops to evict him after he was late paying the rent--oh, wait, he's dead. Want his apartment'

I can understand your frustration on the credit issue you were having, but what poor class to blame the office for the man's suicide. I'm sure it wasn't their fault and there was more to the story.
