My friend had a horrible experience at this place....She went in to apply and was approved but the staff decided to inform her that the complex 'might' have asbestos AFTER they took her money. Her initial reaction was for them to tell her about the asbestos problem during the tour. They failed to do so and she went ahead and demanded her money back and they refused.....let's just say she found a way to get her money back.

oh ! I wasn't aware of that either. I have just laid down a deposit to hold an apartment there but have not signed the lease yet. Do all their buildings have this Asbestos thing? What are the potential health risks?

Here is the sad truth... most buildings in Seattle have asbestos. This is because the majority of the cities buildings went up before the 80's when they began to learn of the harmful affects of insulation containing asbestos. Only the newer buildings and those used by corporations will have asbestos-free or cleared walls.
Mold is fairly common as well. I have rented a number of homes and apartments and each comes with a notice telling me there may be mold in the walls and foundation. This is usually due to the old age of the home -- most of Seattle's homes are old -- and the extreme amount of moisture in the air year-round.
You just need to be smart and crack a window when you're able.
