Gone From Comfortable to Horrible

When we moved in several years ago, it was actually a pleasant little complex and the rent was equitable to the quality of the apartments. New management took over a year or two ago and it's gone downhill in a hurry with no end in sight. We've been long-time residents with not so much as a late payment or a complaint against us or by us over the past 6 years, yet our rent was immediately increased by $60 per month when the new management took over and we just received a renewal offer at an increase of $110 per month. That equates to a 26% increase in two years for the same mold infested, broken down apartment with littered landscaping and frequent car break-in's. My carpet, after six years, is understandably in great need of replacement yet the will only offer to clean it. That's a temporary fix but doesn't resolve the problem of mold coming up through the carpet from the floor underneath. The lack of any insulation in the windows and doors = extreme heat in the summer and bitter cold in the winter (resulting in high PUD bills in the winter). They also seem to be so focused on 100% occupancy that they are willing to rent to anybody. I now have a rude, noisy younger single parent above me oblivious to the fact that her two small children stomping, running and yelling all hours of the day and night is disrupting every waking hour that we're home (I need to replace at least 2-3 lightbulbs each month because of the stomping). The pools, when they aren't actually "closed for repair" are filthy and seemingly open to the public. The only bright spot I can offer is the office staff. With the exception one individual (whom everyone I've spoken with seems to have problems with because of her surly attitude and complete lack of interpersonal skills) the women are very cheerful and helpful.
Bottom line -- save your money and sanity, and avoid this place like the plague that it is. You will absolutely regret signing a lease after spending a few nights here. WAYYYYYY too expense for the substandard quality and it's continuing to go downhill with no end in sight. The employees will tell you otherwise, but trust me when I say a majority of residents who have lived here for two or more years and been subjected to this declining environment and quality of living would completely agree with me.

Completely agree with this posting. I lived in the Mill from 2007-2007 and am glad to be moving. Not to mention the price of my 2bd/2bth has gone from 850-900 to 1200 with NO REMODEL. Yep you got it, same mold infested apartment with nothing changed except new ownership is trying to compete with Reserve at Town Center, Hawthorne and a few others...and frankly, its like a 6 year old baseball player saying he is going to compete in a hitting contest with Babe Ruth...It's actually quite funny to watch them try though...
One plus to anyone dumb enough to actually listen to their lies and move in, there is plenty of parking since everyone has moved out...hint why all the balloons are all over the place..
