Think twice before moving in, overpriced and new ownership is TERRIBLE

The mill used to be a nice place to live in an upscale city that was priced right on the money for what is offered compared to other buildings/facilities in the area. The Mill recently underwent an ownership change and went downhill from there. Monthly rent has jumped from 800-950 for a 2 bed 2 bath to over 1300-1500 with nothing having been changed in the units...Its understandable that the new owners would like to be on the same market as the other apartment complexes in the area but you would think they would remodel their units to match the other complexes in order to compete in the price range...Nope, you wont find that at the Mill...they just upped the prices...
If I can go down the street and get a newer unit, with garage, AC, nicer floor plans and DOUBLE the square footage with better parking, better lighting, better fixtures and insulation as well as better accomodations for EXACTLY the same price..why wouldn't you'
The old office staff was helpful when moving in...thats about it. After they had the first check in their hand they could care less whether or not you were happy and how everything was going. Some of them dont even live in the complex themselves so that should be your first hint. From horrible customer service skills...or lack there of, to being ignored you would think you just walked into a Walmart store and not a place where you were paying them hundreds of dollars each month. Good luck dealing with the owners...they wont even wave at you or say Hi for that matter...you are basically the crap thats stuck to the bottom of their foot and unless you have a rent check in your hand...good luck getting any emotion out of these people....A lot of the workout equipment was beginning to break which is one nice thing that has been fixed by the new owners...as well as unwanted people using the pools and hot tub who dont even live in the complex!!!
As for the community it is still a nice upkept area, nothing special, grass is cut, flower beds are neat etc...but the insulation on the apartments is SOOO bad we actually had a complaint of "a cat running upstairs at night"....if you're listening to a cat...you have problems...its an apartment complex, if you wanted NO NOISE then go buy a house....
It's pretty quiet in the complex...which can be a problem if you want to talk to someone outside, watch TV etc because you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on with your neighbors.....a lot of the fixtures inside the buildings are falling apart as well...shotty craftsmanship over the years has taken its toll and new renters will notice a lot of cut corners from when the buildings were built and remodeled in 2000...whatever couldn't be fixed was just covered up by extra caulk or a strip of laminate...
For the price the Mill was at it was a decent middle scale apartment complex to live in....not extravagant but not in the dumpster either...If they had kept the prices as they were or actually remodeled the units to compete with the competition they wouldnt see so many moving trucks at every building every couple of days...
Bottom line is its overpriced for what you get...why would you buy a Kia if you could buy an Escalade for the exact same price...you wouldn't, so take some advice and shop around...look down the street at the Reserve or Hawthorne....better everything including more square feet and yep thats right...priced the same as the Mill is now vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l

incorrect on the price. The price for a two bedroom starts at 1000.00 and goes up to 1250.00. That includes a carport. The prices from 1135.00 are remodeled apartments. You have new carpeting new cabinetry, new appliances, new doors new closets. Take a look before reading these reviews. They are stretched far from the truth. You be the judge.

The first response was obviously posted by a member of management. While it may have been true that rent for a 2br/2 bath started at $1000 as of a week and a half ago, it is now $1065. No new carpeting, cabinetry, appliances, door, or closets- just $65 a month more for the same apartment with appliances that are probably 20 years old now.
And funny that they should mention the carport. I renewed my lease right after the new management team took over and the new lease does include a section for parking charges. Although they are not currently charging for parking, look for that to change soon. Also expect to pay for trash in addition to having your water bill double the moment the new vendor took over billing.
This complex used to be really great, and I truly loved living here. The town center right across the street, the nature preserve within walking distance, and reasonably friendly office staff (expect for the one girl who is clearly in the wrong profession) all made living in this complex quite enjoyable. But the new management company doesn't really seem to care about resident happiness anymore. New doors aren't nearly as important to me as feeling like I am a valued resident.

Once again like I said before. The price for a two one bath start at 1000.Prices go up depending on size of apartment which the most expensive is 1240.00 (For a remodeled apartment) This includes everything from carpet, appliances, fireplaces, and doors. They are very beautiful. There is an upside to change and you have to make adjustments. You cant please everyone. The management staff hass changed just owners.

Sounds like management/owners are fighting to keep renters in the joint. What a slum that joint is. The place almost reminds me of Nickerson Gardens in L.A. I would think management or whomever the representative is would know how to spell and check their grammar before posting!

I like how the new owners/management use the term "remodeled" considering all that was replaced was carpet, new appliance (which were ancient) and some cabinet doors were upgraded and changed color...thats by far totaly worth the extra 300-400 a month in rent costs. Must explain why every weekend there are at least 2-3 moving trucks in just the units by Bothell Evt Hwy. A plus side to anyone moving in, there is TONS of parking available because everyone has left.
The extra rent money must be going to all the balloons that are all over the place to try and get people suckered in to live here. Just an FYI, the Reserve you can get a 2 bed 2 bath for 1100 , and it has double the square feet, gas fireplace, an actual heating system-not base board, better fixtures, better paint, better carpet (yes it actually feels like carpet and lasts longer than 6 months with normal wear and tear)
Bottom line...dont move here...and listening to management's responses is like listening to a used car salesman..and yes I posted the first comment on this topic.
