Almost here a year, not renewing

Pros:
They have a great pet policy and were willing to let me make payments on the pet deposits.
*The apartments are pretty big
*The layout is good, especially if you want privacy between bedrooms (2 bed, 2 bath)
*The walk in closet is huge! Having two closets in the front bedroom is really nice
*Met lots of really nice neighbors at the pool last summer
*Location is fantastic. Walking distance to everything. When it snowed, getting supplies was an adventure that was nice to have accessible. Library right next door
Cons:
*The rent is WAY too high (which is why I'm not renewing. I'd rather rent a house for that price!). The apartments in the area are tremendously cheaper, unless you want to go for a townhome style which these are not
*The landscaping crew left the majority of the leaves on the ground last fall, which ended up rotting. There are now large patches of green goo where there should be grass. I'm afraid to let my dogs near it
*There used to be poop bags at the dog poop collection bins. They ran out and were never replaced. Things started getting way more poopy after that
*The only complex I've found that makes you pay for a carport
*The garbage situation can sometimes get out of hand (although it doesn't usually). However, I blame the residents. Apparently, some people don't know how to use the Goodwill
*I'm charged for one of the fully upgraded apartments. However, the only upgrades I have are the FAKE hardwood floors (not even purgo, they're laminate), new carpet and paint. The fridge has leaked from day one and the washer/drier are ancient and barely working. The counters are so worn they stain from anything. Faucets are falling apart.
*My upstairs neighbor makes life miserable, but I can't blame anyone but him for that
*You can't see what the building numbers are at all, so it's difficult to give directions
*Parking is TERRIBLE! Extremely difficult to find a spot, let alone have company. Many carport and garage spots open. Likely because of the high price for them, no one wants to pay

I agree totally about the layouts they are nice. I like the high ceilings. My cabnets look like crap due to peeling. And you are right the counter tops stain soooo easily. I hate it... And the price is way too high. It is tough sometimes. I wish they would fix this place up for the price we pay. It is a good locations.

Follow Up from OP:
Moved out. Left the place in great condition. Got charged for painting (I was there one year and the walls were fine!). Not only didn't get deposit back, but got overcharged.
