Look at these apts for what they are: small, semi-private area for temporary living. There are too many people moving in wanting a "home experience" and then complaining that they can hear their neighbors taking showers, doing the laundry, etc. Well, don't be a fool! They are going to tell you that their are all sorts of pluses (the gym, pool, theatre, blahblahblah) that you probably won't use nearly as much as you think. Why' Cleanliness, access issues, the other tenants (this place has gotten rundown). We're moving the next chance we get.
