DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!

I have written a review a long time ago, I figured I might as well update it.

My stay in this apartment complex was hell. Let's list some of the problems.

1) Parking. Buy a stall $20 a month. They SAY they will tow anyone that parks in your spot, but they won't. The towing company will NOT tow cars without the permission of the front office. Otherwise, you are forced to fight over empty, uncovered spots with everyone else. Good luck getting the spots you paid for.

2) Maintenance is almost nonexistant. I had a problem with our downstairs toilet from the day we moved in. I signed the agreement and even wrote a note in there stating that they would come by to fix it. They never fixed it until the day we moved out.

Wanna know what was in it' A big piece of metal that obviously didn't belong. Wanna know who they blamed' My kids. I didn't even have kids then!!

3 There was a normal fall storm one year, and about 10 VERY tall (TOO tall trees) fell down on top of the overhands that cover the parking stalls. One tree landed on my front porch overhand. It crushed two parking stalls, four cars, and almost landed on my daughter's bedroom. DANGEROUS! Whoever thinks these trees should stay there, are mistaken! This is a VERY big deal when it does THAT much damage in one night.

It took them over 6 months to fix the tree problem, and over 4 months for the destroyed cars to be towed. Till then the cars were taking up empty parking spots, and it made a lot of people angry.

4) The appliances are falling apart. My dishwasher broke twice, they didn't replace it...even though it really needed to be. The stove barely worked and when it did, it was a serious fire hazard. Don't even get me started on the fridge that doesn't keep things cold.

5) The kitchen is small and barely existant. I couldn't cook a meal with my husband anymore, and you definately cannot have more then one person in there at one time. The cabinets are small and falling apart, there is no storage. The sinks drip into the bottom cabinet and you need to keep a pan there.

There are ants and bugs that come in from underneath the cabints by the floor/walls as well. Disgusting...I had my place fumigated every months. The apartment does NOT cover the charge for that either.

6) Safety. There is none. You are deluded to think there is. I swear the security doesn't even exist. Try calling them at night, you'll see. They say they will come out, but they don't.

The cops are constantly at the apartments for one reason or another, and it takes a LOT to get them out there. Once they come out, they NEED to arrest someone in order to justify them coming out. So beware! Cars have been broken into, stolen, and there was even a rapist running door to door for a long time. Took them about a year to catch the guy.

7) Dogs without leashes attacked a pregnant women next door to me. She went to the hospital and almost miscarried. The dog was about 2x her size. When her AND I tried to report it to the front office, the front office said "well, that is the dog walker's fault not the tenant". ARE YOU SERIOUS''

Dogs take a dump wherever, whenever. They say they make people clean it up, but they lie. There ARE baggies for people to pick up the poop, but they don't use them. Go take a look at the "trail". Constantly covered in poop.

8) Amenities. The pools were either closed, constantly filled with people, or way way too cold to go in (in the summer no less!). It also has a distinct dingy air to it.

The hot tub is disgusting and teenagers break into the pool area to have sex in it. They charge you 25$ (last I checked) for a pool key, that doesn't even keep people out.

9) Fleas. I owned ZERO pets. The fleas are insane there. You walk from your car on the sidewalk, from a mile away, to your house, and you are covered in fleas. Yet another reason I had to bomb my house. My husband got scars on his legs from all the fleas. After we moved, we either had to toss most of our items or constantly play the "flea" game and try to get rid of them.

10) There are numerous other problems, such as roof repairmen stairing in my windows while I slept and stealing things off of my porch. They "repaired" my roof for over 3 months from 5am till 7pm. I finally caused such a stink about it that Bill finally said something..AFTER I threatened to cancel my lease immediately.

11) The partying. There is tons of it. It seems like the office just lets people run wild. I let my niece, 3 yrs old, come and visit for a week and realized how big of a mistake it was. She couldn't sleep the entire time. Add on that the back porch lights shine into your windows, and it's a serious problem.

12) Trash. Good luck. I had to put mine on the back of my car and drive it to the dumpster. One dumpster for over 30 buildings, add on that they kept adding "trash" fees and we were royally pissed.

13) The mail. The UPS delivers packages to the front office no matter what. You are lucky if they deliver it to your front door. They never did for me, and I worked nights. Quite a few times I went down to the front office to get my boxes and they were ALREADY OPEN!

These are just some of the problems. I'm not even getting into how they totally stiffed me when I moved out on my carpets. Cost me over $3,500 to replace carpets that were NOT new when I moved in, after THREE years of living there...and we had it professionally cleaned too.

I currently live at Surprise Lake Village and I am military as well. I have never had a problem with this apartment complex. You cant honestly be upset with the trees, you live in Washington are you kidding me. Anyway, I have had nothing but great experiences here and that is too bad you didnt have the same. Good luck on your next move!!!

The person that responded to this is an idiot. Apparently that person didn't read any of the other issues that this poster had. Yes, cause all of the problems was just the trees? No, try like 15 other things this person mentioned.
