Lakeside is definately not the best of apartments. The laundry rooms are constantly dirty, and are cleaned on a biweekly basis('). The dumpsters are almost always full with garbage overflowing into the road. The walls DO NOT have insulation. I live in a corner apartment bordering on an enteranceway and the outside. In the winter, all walls are VERY cold, except the wall that borders my neighbour. The equipment facilities are old, with the basketball court full of cracks, sagging hoops and faded lines. The swimming pool opens in May and closes in September - good or bad you decide.
You aren't supposed to work on your vehicles, or park in the fire lanes, but on weekends, the parking lot looks like a mechanics shop, and parking is so bad that cars line the sidewalks.
The staff seem friendly, but are indifferent to the problems of the tennants. Our water pipes were "upgraded" to PVC, which meant we were without water for a day, and had no hot water for 3 days - 2 days longer than promised. The pipes are less than a foot below ground outside, and run up the outside wall in an uninsulated cover. When you look down the inside hallway, you can see the boxed pipes running along the ceiling.
The only thing this place has going for it is that it's fairly quiet depending on where you live, and it seems safe.
