Well, let me tell you a little story about Lakeside. We went to go see the apartments with the rental lady, she showed us the "model home" and said that the other apartments looked like it. So she sent us home with a map of the apartments that we could choose from. She told us to bring it back the next day with the 400.00 deposit. We pick one and brought the check to her, we set up an apointment to see the apartment the next day, because it was "not ready yet". She said that the carpet needed to be vacuumed. When we walked in the the apartment that we pick we were shock. The condition of the place was naste, there was holes in the carpet, not to mention that it was barely there anymore. That carpet had not been replaced in years and I'm serious, it smelt like moldy cat piss. So we told her that we did not like that place and she said "that was ok, we could still look around at the others and pick one." We looked at three more and one had new carpet, but she told us that we had to pay 50.00 more a month. Even thought, she showed us the model apartment, that had new carpet, at this point we were getting a little frustrated. We decide that we would pay the extra 50.00 to have a place with new carpet, because the others were just gross. We went back to the office, we were ready to sign the lease papers and get it over with, but the lady in the office told us that we had to come back the next day because she didn't have the papers ready. How long does it take to get papers together' It was around her 5pm, her get off time, that shows you right there that they don't think of customers first. So we went home and thought about it, we really didn't like the place at all, so we decided that we would go back and try to get our deposit check back. When we got there she thought that we were there to sign the papers but we asked for our deposit back and she refused. She told us that we had to talk to the manager, but she wouldn't be in until the next day. So, back to the office the next day, she told us that she couldn't give it back because we signed the application and turned it in with our deposit. That's where we went wrong, we didn't see the apartment first before we handed over our check, that's a big no no. She said, that the reason for that was because they had to take the apartment that we pick off the market, well we didn't really pick one, until we were suckered in to the apartment with new carpet. But if you ask me, they shouldn't show a model apartment, that is false advertising. The reason we didn't get to see the apartment that picked on paper is because it was not ready to be seen, or that's what the rental lady said. Honestly, this place is a ---- hole, and you get treated like ---- too... Although the manager was nice enough to send us over to thier other apartments (I guess they are owned by the same company), the Andorras. If we didn't like the Andorras we would have been screwed out of half our deposit. We like it, so our deposit was transfered to Andorras. The Rental lady there was much more down to earth and friendly. This was a very good learning experience, never give your money until you see the apartment that you are getting.
