I moved in on a sub-lease as I had to move out of my apartment in Seattle in a hurry due to a jerk-off land lord. As it goes, I've had very good or very bad experiences - not much in between.

I'm writing a follow-up about 8 months after my first review because some things have gotten a bit better and they ARE trying to help but...onsite management is stupid. So if you can deal with idiots they are workable.

1. They raided the -------- selling drugs across from me so now that they police forced them out, my experience here is better.
2. They can't stop the crazy guy that yells at the smokers next door who has now started pounding on my door calling me all sorts of names and he has small children I fear for so Mountlake Terrace Police have become my new BFFs.
3. They towed a car I was trying to sell which now I have a 3000 dollar bill for from a wrecker which I will be deducting from my rent. Ha ha Lakeside!
4. There is a new Management company that owns or runs the property and they do leave you alone most of the time
5. I've noticed a better police presence(there is a Starbucks a few blocks up the street open until 10PM) and thus a bit less crime.

Overall, if you can do better (and that isn't hard in this economy) and your credit is at least 600, don't rent here.

If you're in a pinch and have bad credit, they'll take you but PLEASE sign on for 6 months or less, take copious notes and pictures of EVERYTHING before and after or else kiss your deposits good-bye!

Oh my, thank you for your brutal honesty! We were considering this place, because of the grounds and pricing, but your review makes this place sound like a nightmare. What is it with parents who let their children play in the parking lot? Management is highly irresponsible to allow this, and many other thingd you have noted. This place sounds like a RAT HOLE, again, thanks for your honesty.

Its not that bad for what it is. Everyone on here has the worst thoughts of every place they have ever lived. Its low income housing, with that comes a lot of things like fairly ghetto families and drug dealers. Its at least a little safer than it looks, and when needed, the cops are quick to respond. I think it is better for younger people trying to get on their feet rather than people with families.
