When I first moved to Markland Woods I was very excited. I was new to Washington and knew nothing about Mountlake Terrace. Our apartment LOOKED great when we moved in but then things started to fall apart. I actually had a door fall off its hinges. The walls are so thin you can easily hear your neighbors and being on the first floor we always heard our upstairs neighbors stomping around. Ever time one of our neighbors took a shower we heard the pipes.

The worst part of the whole experience was when we tried to leave. We had a dog, and the we had put down a pet deposit. The manager neglected to actually look at the lease and tried to charge us unreasonable amounts of money. After MANY phone calls, and stress over the whole situation I finally threatened to get a lawyer and pointed out the clause in the lease that proved I was correct. The manager (in a very nasty manner) stated that she had not looked at the lease close enough and that this clause was an error that she would have to remedy. I finally got a small portion of my deposit back. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.
