Do Not Move in Here!!!!!

I lived here years ago with a roommate and his girlfriend. At the start things were ok but as things went on we started having all kinds of small repairs done. Not really too big of a deal but it seems like the maintanance guy was at our apt at least every other week. The kicker came when we went to move out. They tried to keep our damage deposit as well as charge us more for carpet and vinyl that "had to be replaced". After months of going back and forth with some guy named Roger who was a complete ass to talk to, we went to court. We had pictures of the unit and copies of the lease when we went. They stated that the carpet and vinyl had to be replaced due to unnecessary heavy wear. We had lived there for a total of 2.5 years and the carpets and vinyl had normal wear and tear. The only marks on the vinyl were from when the repair man came to fix the washer, dryer and the dishwasher. The opposing attorney stated to the judge that we were at fault and needed to pay the extra $1200 for the carpet and vinyl. We didn't have an attorney but stated to the judge that all of the units in that building were getting new carpet because they were converting to condos and didn't feel that this was our responsibility especially since they were still in good condition. The attorney then told the just with a chuckle that "this is pretty much an open and shut case". The judge disagreed and her decision was in our favor. It was fun to watch him leave with his tail bewteen his legs, being beaten in court by three amateurs. All in all don't move in here unless you like dealing with idiot people and issues like this.

One more thing. About a month after we moved in I was watching a friends dog and had fallen asleep on the sofa. I woke up to the dog barking and the front door ajar. I grabbed my bat and took a walk around the parking lot. Later called the cops to report this and of course there was nobody to be found. I know that I had locked the door before I sat down and both of my roommates were in bed sleeping. They say they changed the locks before a new tennant moves in but somebody had a key. Either they didn't change the locks and a previous tennant still had access or the maintanance guy was using the key. Either way I went out and got a new lock for the door and didn't give the management a key. I just made sure I was there anytime they had to gain access. Again, do not move here!!!!
