Trash Everywhere...but

The property is running over with trash and cigarette butts at all times.
Sadly there is only one maintenance person and he also has to do the grounds-keeping.
So needless to say not much is done when it comes to the grounds.
Here's the real problem. The current residents are throwing trash almost anywhere except the dumpsters. Very few of the people who live here take pride in their home. I am embarrassed to have friends come over due to the many kdis that run free smoking and throwing butts on the ground still lit. And this right next to the trash they just dropped on the ground as well. It's a wonder one of these people haven't already burned the place down.
The residents are the ones who need to clean off their eye-sore decks and patios and pick up after themselves. The staff should start fining these people for not taking proper care of the community they call home.
The apartments themselves are nice and in a quiet area. Wish I could evict some people myself.

I agree with the problems about the up keep and the lack of control management has, but I am a tenant and I take pride in my apartment and deck and have never just thrown trash wherever i want. i have acutally cleaned up after a few of the messy ones on mor ethan one occasion. Any issues I have had with children or the appearance of the grounds I have gone directly to the office and complained. Maybe next time you write a comment you should be more specific as to who it is you have an issue with, don't just group us into the same catagory.

You Must Take a Proactive Stance with these problems. Unfortunatly, the only way to get this property owner to act on any complaints is to contact state, city or county agencies. Try the Health Dept for the garbage problem, unit mold problems (has been a long term problem, no drainage) the garbage draws rats. The pool once it is open needs monitoring for proper chemical balance, the health department will come out and test the water and demand correction of the problem. For the problems with garbage, boxes or piled with rubish, try calling the fire department to complain about fire/arsen hazards. Since this property has section 8, try calling HUD and filing a complaint since you are not able to enjoy the amenities of the grounds. Outside agencies require owner to act on the complaint to remidy the problem with a time limit for correction. Good Luck
