Reasonable place to live with a convenient location

I lived in Victorian Woods for a little over 2 years in a 1 bedroom apartment. Here's my take of the place:

Pros: By far the biggest selling point to me was the location. It's within a few blocks of I-5 and only about one mile south of the I-5/405 intersection, making freeway driving a snap. It's also fairly easy to travel through the back roads either east to Mill Creek or Bothell, or west to Edmonds, Shoreline, Lynnwood, etc. thereby skipping the freeways entirely. The rent is OK depending on your negotiating skills (my neighbor was able to bargain down his 3 bedroom apt to $950 by offering to sign a year lease). There is no garage, but a carport space is provided for each unit (nothing fancy, but it's functional). Guest parking is plentiful at the back of the parking lot, although if you live in the front of the complex it can be a hassle. The apartments have all basic amenities you'd want: dishwasher, washer/dryer, full bath, etc.

Cons: Lots of turnover with management. I had at least 5 managers in my time there. The latest one seems pretty cool, but it seems like they're working him to the bone so I don't know how long he'll last. The neighborhood (i.e. the complex) is not great; some of the neighbors are sketchy, but I suppose that's to be expected of any large complex. Noise insulation (as well as overall construction quality) inside the apartments is below average; you will definitely hear your neighbors as well as people outside (and during the summer when the kids are out it can get loud). Once I moved in I noticed the cheap cabinet quality and lots of little dings around the place, so watch for that.

If you're looking for something luxurious, fancy, or spotless you'll probably want to look elsewhere, but I'd recommend the place if you want a convenient location with good amenities for a fair price.
