Finally moving out

I've lived here in the AV for a little over 3 years now. I'm finally leaving. The neighbors are probably rejoicing as I am "that guy" with the big truck and the jeeps.
PROS:
-I finally figured out that if you need any maintenance done, just find a maintenance guy and ask him to stop by. After dealing with the office staff, and waiting MONTHS, I just talked to the Maintnenance folks themselves and got my issues taken care of.
-The grounds (before this construction nightmare started) are well maintained.
-My neighbors have always been cool folks, we live at the bottom of the hill in the corner. We have been here the longest in our building and have never had any problems, thefts or anything in our little corner. Problably the best building to live in here.
-Fireplace, only way to go if you need to heat your place in the winter.
-Police are constantly roving the neighborhood. I like Police. I even offer them coffee and stuff when I am out dinking around with my Jeep or BSing with the neighbors.
-The City of Mukilteo is an awesome city. Good community, schools, restaraunts... etc. Nice folks.
CONS:
-Office staff sucks. Royally.
-Rent was constantly raised. The staff even told us we could only sign a 6 month lease and then jacked our rent over and over again. When we moved in here in 05 we were paying $700/month for a two bedroom, we currently pay $980 for the same apartment. I have talked to all my neighbors and we are paying the highest rent in our building.
-No maintenance is allowed on your vehicles. I mean nothing. I was putting in a stereo in my rig one day and got a "nastygram" from the office. Need to top off your windshield wiper fluid' You will get talked to for that too.
-Feral cats everywhere. Reminds me of a shipyard or something.
-Parking royally sucks.
-The property maintenance has been going on for more than a year and a half. The construction and roofing, while may need to be done, are taking way too long.
-Electric baseboard heat = high electric bills. I usually have fires when it gets cold, keeps the apartment toasty warm.
-No notice when they need to do something to your apartment. No notice of anything for anything for that matter. All this construction going on, it would be nice to get a notice of what was going on and when. They do send me notices that I need to be out of my parking space while they are doing construction.
-Gym equipment is broken 75% of the time.
-Single pane windows sweat like a champ when cooking or showering. ALL OF THEM. Take a shower, wipe down all your windows. Also I don't like paying to heat the outdoors.
-I know I already said it, but parking royally sucks.
-Pet fees are crazy.
-All the folks that I have known here have gotten hosed when they leave. Your apartment better be CLEAN when you leave.
-When Boeing is doing thier engine tests, it shakes the windows.
-Washer and Dryer are a total nightmare.
All in all, I live in a quiet corner with some awesome neighbors. The place has been an inexpensive stepping stone to home ownership. Where I can rock my surround sound to my hearts content.
If I had to rate this place on a scale of 10. It would get a solid 6. If I lived in another building elsewhere in the community it would be a 4.
I would reccomend it to someone who wants a "cheap" place to live or is single.
If you have kids or a family, I'm gonna have to say no.

i totally agree ive been here for quite along time and the only reason i stay is because of having 2 come up with a deposit and knowing even though ive been here fore years there gonna ream me on paint cleaning and rugs fo the last ten years i have never once seen them replace a carpet on a current resident or painted a apartment if you stay they dond do anything to keep up your apartment if your elderly or just plain cant move because of financial reasons. they would rather have nice quiet residents leave and have new ones come in so u have new neighbors every few months. not knowing if your going 2 be able 2 get enough sleep from the neighbors fighting or the cops coming and having your walls shake because your neighbor decided to watch tv or listen 2 there music. plus its like walking on egg shells with the office manager not knowing if your gonna have a notice on your door every night at 6 pm wondering if u did something wrong that day from having 2 many planter boxes or i your deck looks fine 2 them or not. she loves 2 make u feel like your not worth living here no matter who u are and yes parking sucks. and it would b nice 2 know from one day 2 the next if your gonna have a roof over your head. shes very good at throwing out eviction notices for petty things. u can look around on the doors and see at least once a week who she wants out or not and it usually is the nice quiet resident who was 2 days lat on there rent or water bill and not for having the cops at there house twice a week. it would b nice if they offered a fresh coat of paint or new carpet every ten years then making u pay for it when they have u move after that long. ive seen people clean really well and she will still find a reason 2 ream u on some sort of deposit no matter how long u have lived there. the only reasons i stay is for the schools basically.
