It was an interesting year at Archstone. We lived here in a one bed, one bath on the 4th floor for one year (04-05). When we first moved in, there was a problem with our oven, it was cooking at 500 degrees!! Needless to say, lots of burnt things! It took them two weeks to finally fix it, condradicting their cooperate policy of 24-hour response. The management said they would call you back and never would. You would continuously have to check up on them (like children). They compensated us for our time with a gift card of $50 to Albertson's and money off our rent after hounding them for some sort of compensation. There were a few domestic disputes that my boyfriend and I called on, one involving a drunk man put in the back of a trunk by a few of his friends (needless to say, this could look a bit suspicious in the early A.M). Lately, we've had a serious problem with pigeons! They have made our roof, and the ledge their home. Making a mess everywhere, waking us up with their constant sounds, and scaring the holy crap out of me when I walk down the steps!! After complaining several times over the last month and a half I have finally given up. I have learned to use the other side of the building. No problems with theft or prowling. Very safe, as is next to the police station and a retirement community. Smaller than most places, but has a very nice walk in closet, large bath and kitchen. Loved the laundry closet too. We have loved the over-all appearance with Archstone (very pretty) on the outside, as is on the inside. Moving due to college transfer.
