Like most apartments, this place has good points and bad. They have a safety rule and you sign it in your lease agreement - no BBQ grills. This is a safety rule they chose to ignore and do nothing to stop people from violating it. The B building overlooks the pool - constant BBQ grill and party going on in the 2nd floor apartment. I guess they're too lazy to actually adhere to their own rules, unless it has to do with money, of course.
Parking is terrible.....there is no security patrol and no penalty for noise violators.....unless you nag and nag and nag. The city council is going to begin charging them for police runs to the noise areas because they're tired of the managers here not be able to control their tenants. A very good idea. Maybe if they had to pay, they'd be more responsible.
Maintenance does the best they have for what they're given to work with. Appliaces are old and falling apart - stoves are so unlevel it's hard to cook. Dishwashers and washers make tons of noise that can't be fixed or stopped.
Mold dots appear where the nails are in the ceilings and walls. They paint it over.
Lots of traffic through the complex at ALL hours of the day and night.
Garages have ONE opener.....and the openers on the outside of the garages haven't worked since I've been here and they show no signs of ambition to make them work. So much for customer service.
The staff....it's a job, which is about how they behave once they have your name on the lease. They are very good at playing on the computer and taking long lunches. It would be a good thing if they actually walked around their complex and saw the things the tenant sees and adheres to their own rules.

Your happiness has not been built into Archstone's budget. It's a bunch of crap but a matter of fact.
