I've lived at Newport Crossing for a few years now. What keeps me here is the location. I love the peace and quiet that Newcastle offers. And the beauty of Lake Boren park, and you can't beat the walking/hiking trails so close to the apartments. However, I lived here when it was owned by Archstone, then the management staff was FLAWLESS. AND the rent was much less. However since then I've steadily noticed a decline in the customer service. These girls do their best, but it could be better. Turnaround time on getting things fixed is VERY slow, therefore I rarely ask to have minor things fixed I simply ask the boyfriend to do it. The rents steadily increase and you don't really understand why. The grounds are just "nice" nothing spectacular, I've seen apartments for far less than what I'm paying with far more amenities. These are definitely "transitional" apartments, I would recommend signing a lease for no more than 6 months. Lately I've noticed that there are a lot of loud people who live there, and quite often on Friday or Saturday nights at 2am you can hear them roaring through the parking lot and they don't really care that its 2AM. At first I justified living here because of the location and because the cost of living in the state where I used to live was so high, I was still paying less than I would have had I not moved here. However, location isn't everything. They have some work to do definitely, and I TOTALLY agree with the other person who posted about the snow days. Its ridiculous that they don't SAND anything when it snows, the parking lot and walkways are VERY dangerous during the snow days. Its a lawsuit just waiting to happy. So yep Newport Crossing, its time for me to bid farewell to your high prices for no reason. With the recession, you can find much better deals in Kirkland, or even Mercer Island and even Bellevue.
