Here is what happened...HSC management were renting these apartments. After a month, HSC decided to sell the apartments to convert them into condos. HSC knew of the potential transaction, as it was in negotiations 3 months prior to us signing the lease. So now we have to move out and find another place. When we asked why they did not inform us of the potential sale so that we could make an informed decision, they said they did not have to and had no legal obligation to do so. They said, "your situation sucks, but too bad". They said we could now buy this place at a discounted rate of $220/sq foot. Some discount...another tactic to rip people off. Now that HSC has sold the apartments, the new management, Targa, is horrible. They got rid of the old maintenance group, which was the only good thing left.
Finally to anyone who decides to purchase these apartments, BEWARE!! They are trying to sucker buyers by doing small little changes. They are trying to push the "luxury condo" name, but it does not feel like a condo, just a glorified apartment, with horrible service. Not to metion the sales people. Complete jerks from Canada. Not worth what they are asking for. You can buy a much nicer and newer place for $250/sq foot (rate offered to public). Finally, if you do buy a condo here, make sure your Board looks closely at Targa as they are a bad managerment company.

Find another place on the Eastside that is as new and big for $220/sqft or even $250/sqft that has all the appliances included, underground parking, maintenance staff, etc.
What HSC did to you is unfair, but what you're doing is ripping on a condo because of the management, which is also unfair. I was a renter here too and bought a unit. If you don't think the prices are good, I challenge you to find a better deal and post it here for us to see.

HSC is a Management Company and did not own it first of all. There is a difference. The owner does not always disclose when something is for sale and usually, unfortunately the Management is the last to know. I would not blame HSC since they are not the owners and were most likely not 100% aware of the pending sale.
