I have lived at Abbey Rowe for almost two years now and I'm now regretting the fact that I signed a new lease.
One of Abbey Rowe's most expensive features is the security. However, since I moved here most of the security cameras and the security van have been removed, rent has INCREASED since then.
Another expensive feature is the gated community, but the gates are left open several hours per day, including school bus loading and unloading times.
The playground is it's own horror story. Apparently, garden compost is more cost-efficient than sand under the swings. The area is surrounded on 3 sides by an electrical substation, a water treatment facility, and a dense wooded area. HOMELESS PEOPLE SLEEP THERE NOW THAT THE CAMERAS ARE GONE!
The construction standard is proving over time to be a joke. The complex is less than 3 years old, and it's already starting to fall apart; ceilings are starting to sag, fire sprinklers are loose and starting to leak, appliances are furnished from the lowest bidder and are constantly breaking in some way, walls are insulated to the minimum allowed by county thermal standards (Thurston County has the lowest) which means there is nothing in interior walls and between-floor. You can carry a conversation between closed rooms at a normal speaking tone, or better yet, you can hear upstairs neighbors in the bathroom.
In closing, there are many communities that offer a better quality of living at much lower costs. The many, many vacant apartments and the fact that new tenants vacate the premises after just one month speaks volumes! In Abbey Rowe's case you don't get what you pay for!
