Living at Abbey Rowe Apartments has been the worst apartment situation I have ever lived in. The walls/floors/ceilings are very thin and you can hear everything that is going on in your neighbor's apartment. The management is not at all helpful. My upstairs neighbors set off their fire alarm and my apartment was flooded as a result. Abbey Rowe offered me no assistance and only after much determination on my part did they reluctantly get someone to come in to dry out the carpets. My apartment was unhabitable for several days, and for several more days after that there were large loud blowers set up and running 24 hours a day to dry out the floor. I was given a whopping three days of free rent and was left with a mess of an apartment and ruined furnishings to deal with.
Abbey Rowe is in the business of taking every cent they can get from their renters. They make you feel like you work for them instead of providing you with great customer service. My lease was set to expire about a month before I was to deploy to Iraq (I am in the Army) and I gave notice 2 months prior to my lease expiring. But because I filled out their specific document (which I was not aware of prior to filling it out) only 17 days prior to vacating the apartment instead of 20 days, they required me to pay an extra month's rent after my lease had already expired. My entire deposit was kept due to "cleaning fees". I left my apartment in an acceptable state. It did have normal wear and tear that you would expect from someone living there for almost 2 years, but nothing to amount to them withholding my entire deposit.
Dealing with the management and owners of Abbey Rowe Apartments has been a nightmare.

I am an apartment manager in tacoma and guess what the law is the law a 20 day written notice prior to the last day of the month is what the law states that everybody has to give one. My husband is and has been a soldier for 14 years and he can read his lease just fine and follow the rules and laws, so what is the problem????

the problem is that some landlords lack compassion and they can use better judgement. The soldier gave them a 2 months notice but because he didnt fill out their proper document, they charged him an extra month rent.Legally the landlord was in the right but morally the landlord was in the wrong because he or she knew he informed him of his depature and then he fill it out only 3 days after the 20 day notice when they knew 2 prior that he was going to IRAQ!...come on now...the landlord could have had compassion! people will remember you best for being compassionate then trying to use the law to take advantage of someone.
