This was my first apartment, fresh out of high school. I opted for the higher priced studio, which had seperate kitchen and ricketty micro-balcony slash seagull perch for $50 dollars more per month. A definate drawback was the communal bathrooms (two toilets and one shower on the top floor - one toilet and shower on the lower floor). I actually liked the historic atmosphere of the Angelus (it's the last remaining turn of the century hotel in downtown), but I believe for the price it could afford a lot of upgrades. I had a great view of Percival Landing and the sound, and painted it to make it home. My unit was directly above the managers office that they only occupied for 3 hours every weekday, and at one point had no neighbors on either side. I think that if my studio had had it's own bathroom, I would still be living there today.
