Love It!

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
My fiancee and I have been living here for about seven months and we absolutely love it. Rent is very affordable and a bargain considering how wonderful the apartments are. The scenery is gorgeous. I love having the nature trail and forest surrounding us, even if the view of cooper point off in the distance ruins some of the tranquility. The neighbors are all very nice. Most of them keep to themselves, which is fine by me as I'm a bit shy myself. Most of the people we have met, however, are very cool and lots of fun to talk to.
The apartments are in very close proximity to the mall and Evergreen and stops for 41 and (I believe) 44 even run right in front of us on Capital Mall and Cooper Point. One could walk to Safeway, which is definitely handy.
However, the fact that Yauger Park backs us up is one bone-of-contention for me and might be for anyone else that doesn't appreciate the sound of enthusiastic crowds at 7 am on a Saturday. On the one hand, its cool that there is such a huge area for dogs to run around in and a playground for the kids. On the other hand, baseball, softball, and whatever else starts up in mid to late spring and after that point, forget about sleeping late with your windows open.
Also, we have since moved from our original, smaller apartment which was a Pippin.
For some reason, it had the worst ventilation. Heat, moisture, and odor would become easily trapped, and so we often had to withstand the shouting from the park with no other alternative but to open all of our windows.
My last complaint would have to do with parking. It wasn't always a problem to get a space near my apartment, but every so often, for no apparent reason, all of the spaces would be filled and I would have to park a ways over from where I lived. I always wondered why this was, especially since I would sometimes return home at the same time to find enough spaces available to park near my apartment. I assume someone would have guests over. I would say they could definitely use more spaces, but perhaps this is typical for most apartment buildings. I've only just gotten a car, so maybe now I'm just noticing it.
On the whole, I'd say this is a great place to live for any age group. I actually haven't seen as many young adults as I have families and older people. I also have yet to hear unbearably loud music or see a crazy, alcohol-soused party. I would guess that most of the residents here aren't party animals and probably wouldn't appreciate a tenant who was. I wouldn't say these apartments are bad for college students and young adults entirely, just the ones who like to make noise. But that's just my impression.
Last note, these apartments are very animal friendly. All of the people I've encountered here with my pooch, apparently, love dogs or even have one of their own. I've also seen a lot of cats. There are also plenty of birds and squirrels to chase on the nature trails.
So if you're thinking of renting at Apple Park, go for it. Its quiet, pretty, affordable, and safe.
