My roomate and I were tennants at black lake apts. we moved in last year (02) just needed a place to live near capmus(TESC). I thought it was a little strange that they wanted such a huge deposit, considering both my roomate and I had adequate rental history. I did not see the scam that was happening. They used our outrageious depostit to milk us when we moved out, damages that we did not inflict, screens that we never touched let alone used. You?re probably thinking well I?ll just be extra careful on the move-in sheet and list every-little-thing. That?s what we did, but it wasn?t enough and never will be because, Lara the mng. will not let you be present on the move-out walkthru, why''''' We don?t know, maybe so they can determine the damage bill themselves, seems reasonable, if you?re a manager. but what about us little people who earn an honest days work. They don?t care, they just want your money. The proof is in the pudding, MOLD issues, well here is a can of primer to cover it up yourself. On several occasions I made formal work requests for them to do something about the MOLD growing exponintially up my wall. At first I thought they trully fixed it, untill two-three weeks later it started coming back. The solution the second time was to give me my own can of "primer" to cover the mold, which is exactly what they did the first time. This cover up is almost a slimy as the cover-ups the main office files everyday.

You might think I am writing all this because I had a bad experience. Not really, living there was fine, a little overpriced, but hey it?s always location, location, location. And that?s what did it to us, however now that I am free and clear of black lake apartments I only want to shed some light on the problems you will no-doubtly run into. They don?t care about the tennants, just their money, and how much of it they can get at the end. Because they realize not to many people are willing to go the distance, so they receive a ton of your "donations". Your money is yours, why are they the ones that end up with it'
