only as a last resort...

Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2000
Living at Black Lake was a very expensive mistake, I would not live in this apartment again under any circumstances. Aside from the daily annoyances of living in poor quality buildings (i.e. I could hear when my neighbors were dialing up their modem or watching tv)there were many major quality issues - my neighbors ceiling fell in after a mild rain, and my deck has huge cracks that had to be filled with tar twice in six months! The hot tub and outdoor pool are always closed due to vandalism or myserious maintenance. The office staff is semi-friendly until you want to move out... I was told when giving notic on the first of the month that they needed a full month, and I was a day to late. I had to fight over this, and then my entire deposit was retained by them AND I was billed an additional $200 for such "damages" as repainting the apartment and fixing a cracked door that was cracked when I moved in. Isn't that routine maintenace that a complex of their size should be doing'
Also, don't attempt to use the "clubhouse" when the attendant is itching to go home early, they will start "reminding" you of the time starting at 1 hour before close.
Rent on a 1 bed was $505 in 1998, is now $580.
