Stolen Deposit/parking/domestic violence/lies

I lived here a couple years ago, but after renting from somewhere else I now realize I was screwed over more than I thought.
The Deposit was around $700. The apartments kept the complete deposit, plus we were charged for cleaning and paint touch up (a couple hundred dollars). Um, excuse me' What on earth did my deposit pay for then'
I rented from Hometown Property Management more recently, and after paying for cleaning and painting and a ruined floor I got half my deposit back. Black Lake was really shady. If you care about your deposit try somewhere else. And ask what you'll have to pay for when you move out. Hometown was very clear, but Black Lake wasd not, even when we asked.
the parking was a constant battle. Tenants literally had to fight over parking.
Noise' Well the neighbors fighting and cussing next door was our nightly entertainment. Sometimes I would come home and think they were in my apartment.
Safety' Well our car was stolen, and there had been 2 serious police entanglements across the way.
They spent a lot of time painting the outside while I was there. Unfortunately this did not help with the dead things in our walls, and the overall drabness and oubvious wear-and-tear inside he apartment. Everytthing inside is still nice and cheap and maintained as little as possible. But rent did go up! yay!
I think the staff might have taken seminars on how o be vauge and swindle tenants our of their needs and money. No joke.
After living somewhere else I realize this place is ridiculous. I paid maybe $50 more somewhere else and I was on a lake with a staff that was very helpful, even though they were miles away. Plus they were very honest and clear with us and easy to deal with.
