So I've been reading the past reviews of College Pointe and thought I would chime in. I've been here 2 1/2 yrs and I agree with some of what's been posted (lack of maintenance, etc). But that said, I believe much of it had to do with the management company who was running things and who they employed to manage the apts.
So here's what's going on now. New management company and new manager. With the new company, we've also seen new maintenance and groundskeeper who I can see are working hard trying to fix up what's been long overlooked. The fences around the garbage bins are being replaced, with new recycling bins for plastics, papers, and glass. The grounds are looking so much better now with soggy leaves being cleaned up and garbage getting picked up (with the exception of around some of the dumpsters - that's more of a lazy tenant thing, but it's still getting cleaned up). The problems we've had with parking are starting to get better, although some tenants still feel the need to block in some garages (but those are getting towed now anyway). Rent is still a little high, but seeing as the area has a high cost of living, it's pretty average.
The new buildings are finished now, so no more construction and tenants are starting to move in. The only thing I'm disappointed with is that in order to build, they had to tear out the playground and haven't replaced it. Would be nice to have with all the kids here.
So I'm not giving up on CP at all. Things are truly getting better.
