Love it here and sad to leave

I've only been here for a few months and have absolutely loved it. Due to a new job, I will have to relocate soon and highly doubt I will find a place as unique as Landis Pointe. This is heaven compared to where I used to live! Although I didn't establish a relationship with the old manager as others did (they left shortly after I moved in), I know she and her husband were very special. But honestly, I think the reviews about the new management are extremely unfair. She is trying very hard to do a good job and seems eager to please the residents. It wasn't long after she arrived the apartments were pressure washed. (That was NEVER done at my old complex where I lived for 4 years.) I had something that needed to be fixed in my apartment and the maintenance man fixed it the same day. I have 0 complaints about this complex. I looked around the area extensively before deciding on Landis Pointe -- there is nothing else out there like it. It is truly a haven and I will miss it very much!!

I don't know what complex you lived in before but we have had our complex powerwashed and painted on a REGULAR basis so there is NO comparison there and the only thing that was powerwashed was the car ports. Perhaps the complex you lived in before was a noisy area, this one was not in the past, is now, it was previously much more peaceful, too bad you weren't here to appreciate that, then you would definately understand. As far as the manager doing a good job, I suppose she may, when she is in the office or on the property! It takes dedication and being on your job site to be effective in doing a good job! Those of us who have lived here for years DO realize what a great haven this is but it is changing in a bad way, VERY FAST! We used to have strict "quiet time" and they were STRICT, that was heaven, now I hear everyones conversations, yelling, traffic speeding through here late at night (WAS NEVER LIKE THIS BEFORE, WOULD NOT BE TOLERATED) Once again, when there is no manager on site to enforce the rules of the complex, it is a free for all, and thats not what I am used to at Landis Pointe so unless you know first hand how it was in years past, under the old management and can see how much it has changed, I don't see how you can make any judgements! Maybe compared to your old residence, this is wonderful, but compared to 6 months ago, it is becoming just another high price, shoddy apartment complex.

A friend told me about this sight I could not actually believe it was a slam the new management forum. The person posting all the negative comments over and over, repeating the same complaints, putting down anyone who has anything positive to say seems extremely unhappy. I would think they would take advantage of their lease break options and move. I have lived due to my work in numerous apartment complexes and I love it here at Landis Pointe. That is why I have stayed here for so long. Have people suddenly started to talk louder? Drive faster? If there is excessive noise after 10pm has the manager been informed about it? Did your stairwell not get powerwashed? I DO know how it was in years past so keep up the good work in the office and maintenance.

Just curious...what is quiet talk? Does that mean people had to whisper after 10 pm? Enforcing that type of "rule" just doesn't seem realistic...that is a problem with the construction of the buildings if you can hear people talking in other apartments. That issue shouldn't be put on the manager to police whether or not you are talking above a whisper. Was the quiet time after 10 pm enforced on weekends as well? If so...must have been like living in a prison here. I'm sure there are probably people who live at Landis Pointe that work swing shift or graveyard shift. Should they ask that quiet time be enforced during the day too? Come on -- quiet time after 10 pm is just an unrealistic rule for apartment living. By the way...I was NEVER told about that rule when I moved in when the old management team was here. As far as the new manager goes -- why should she be on site at all times during the day? It's not like she is a security guard. Just because her style is different from the previous manager doesn't mean it is wrong. She doesn't need to be micromanaged by the residents -- and it does seem as though some of the residents here would like to tell her how to do her job. (This is in response to unhappysenior below.)

This is NOT a slam the new management forum as you suggest. If you have lived here for years as you state, you see the and hear the difference so the negative comments are TRUE!!! People have not started talking louder, nor driving faster as you insuate. Since you have been here a long time, you know we all had the "QUIET TALK" when we moved in here, NO NOISE after 10 PM....strictly enforced also I might add!! Now, those people who knew there were going to be concequences for being loud and driving fast know there is no one to enforce the rules....hence the increased noise and traffic! As far as breaking my lease and leaving...WHY SHOULD I....I also LOVE it here, we just need a manager who #1 Cares about the residents (OTHER THAN TO COLLECT MY RENT) #2 Enforces the rules of the complex #3 Rerurns calls (yes, I have called several times and never have gotten a return call) #4 Maintains the property and #5 and most IMPORTANTLY.....IS ON THE PROPERTY....Isn't that why management is provided an on site residence?? Why should I leave a place I love and have called home for years because we have a manager who dosn't care? I am NOT slamming her.....IT'S THE REALITY...WAKE UP!!!
